Default Looking for Detroit area alignment WITH rear Caster gauge

Looking CF member experience with a reputable Detroit/southeast Michigan Chevy dealer (or independent shop) that has the proper alignment rack and rear caster adapter/gauge to adjust it properly.

This is what I’m referring to:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-their-c7.html

Thanks.

Have you call Harold's Frame Shop? They seem to have the latest equipment for Alignment's.

Not many dealers have these and far fewer indie shops have them since very few cars have adjustable rear caster. There are only 3 GM cars that require this gauge and only one that requires the bracket. How many indie shops are going to pay $1K for a set of tools for cars they rarely see.

OP: See if you can find a large dealership that also used to be a Saturn or Pontiac dealership. Both the Saturn Aura and the Pontiac Solstice required rear caster settings. There is one issue you could run into and that is they have the gauge but don't have the adapter bracket. The gauge was designed for the Aura/Solstice and a bracket is required to attach it to the C7. If they don't have the bracket it might be a while before they can get it. I have been told two different times by Bosch Tools that bracket order can't be filled for another 30 days. I am expecting to get an email from them within the next two weeks saying it will be another 30 days.

Thanks for the replies. I am starting the email process to a few local Chevy dealers. I suspect I will have difficulty finding one capable. One already replied and told me that a C7 that's been lowered -at all- on stock bolts will not be able to be brought back to factory street specs...

And this was his further reply: "We can align your vehicle but the rear caster is not something we can address nor have we ever had to address it on a Corvette. That being said when we researched it there is no actual caster adjustment."

Yeah....

I'm not a big fan of Harold's. I had some work done there last summer on one of my other toy cars and was not impressed.

Let us know what you find out, I would like a source for this service as well. You might want to check with Auto X Al. I see he is local and does a lot of track activities.

I have a guy on the west side (Walled Lake) but he doesn't have the tool for rear caster. I was going to suggest AutoX Al or Gordy. One of them can probably get you in touch with John Heinricy. I'm sure those guys have done real alignments on their C7s.

Seconding reaching out to Alan Johnson at Matick. They provide support to Heinricy. 69autoXr posted Alan’s e-mail earlier in this thread.

Oh, BTW, it was the Saturn Sky that was the sister car to the Solstice. Aura is a sedan like the Malibu.

Will do, I appreciate the help, it's nice to have some support familiar with corvette stuff more close to home.
