Default Added Lights to Exhaust Plate

Saturday morning I went over to local auto parts store to get a drive belt for my tractor. While the belt was getting measured I saw these LED light strips and got an idea. This is how it turned out.

I tapped into my license plate lamps and spent about $7.00

That looks pretty good. What led strip did you use? And how did you tap it into the license plate lights?

The LED light was from AutoZone. It was just called LED FLEXLITE and had the try me button, so you can see what it looks like when lit. The light is red and has 6 lights in it and attached with a peel and stick strip. I mounted it so it can not be seen at all but illuminates the emblem. I just stripped a tiny bit of insulation from the license plate light leads, without cutting the wires, and made solder connections. I used a couple of coats of brush on liquid insulation to seal the connections.

The belt fit great!.... I installed it after I finished the lights on the Vette.

The yard work can always wait!

I'm in the minority on this one, but not my cup of tea. But then again, not my car either.

Sorry to revive this old thread. I want to do the same LED above the exhaust plate, question how did you guys run the wire from underneath to the license plate light?

Why be sorry? I should be sorry, since I have lights and no exhaust plate!
Once you have the entire license plate and frame out, look around with a good flashlight and mirror. There are gaps, I just don't remember where. I had led strips behind the rear diffusers wired to my backups.
