Things Just got Serious!!! Ultimate F2 Cog Dry Sump 427 build is under way!
Well guys the time has come to take my 01 C5Z to the next level. I've been on a long progression that started with a stock block Novi 2000 C5 putting down 620whp. After a short stent at that power level I was bored and looking for more. Next came a smaller pulley then a blown ringland.
Part 2
ERL superdeck 427 was built and novi went back on. This time with smaller pulley. New combo made a respectable 750whp but was snapping belts every 1k miles. Combo was clearly in need of a flip drive for the blower to prevent the wimpy little 6 rib from tapping out. I started doing a little shopping for a flip drive a found a Dallas Performance setup. In my search I also ran across a F1X blower with a cartek bracket. I figured it was time to take advantage of the ERL Superdeck's power handling capabilities. So I bought it.
Part 3
F1x makes it on to the ERL with a new fuel system and some extra go fast goodies. car makes 950whp....for exactly two nights. After that massive kick in the nuts I decide to find a new builder. Through many suggestions from many people I decide to go with Bret Bradbury aka BLOWNBLUEZ06. He seemed to share the same power addiction that I do and has a great track record of building some impressive high HP cars.
Part 4
After months of back of forth with Bret and much soul searching and questioning of my own sanity I decide to throw all caution to the wind and build the monster that I have always wanted. So here it is people. The LAST stop on my C5Z build journey. Straight to crazy land. Here's the plan.

Callies Ultra Billet I-Beam Rods
CP/Carrillo Custom Pistons
Mast 285cc Black Label Cylinder Heads
Precision Metalcraft Intake
FIC ANSU 1650 injectors

Custom 4.5" Intercooler
American Racing 2" primary long tubes
Bret's Custom Triple In-Tank 450 pumps E85 compatible lines etc.
30 spline RPM Level 6 Trans
Stage 4 RPM Diff
This is a general overview of the game plan, but Bret and I have a ton of fab worked planned for this ridiculous build. Well that's enough typing for one night. Keep an eye out for plenty of pictures.

Mine went in to him for a 700-750 rwhp build... then I decided to shoot for 800rwhp.... after all of Bret's "suggestions", I finished at 900rwhp.. lol.
He takes the time to do things right, and make them pretty under the hood.
OP, sub'd for this crazy build. I assume you're shooting for 1200rwhp or so?

For all of us following this thread, it would be nice to see the car ready soon.
But it will take time.
Sometimes parts are not available right away or then there are custom parts required. So perhaps the car will be ready next spring?
In other words, do you have any planned date when it would be ready for tuning and final steps?

I have a question related to your earlier setup; did the F1X fit under your stock hood? I'm running a 427 with an F1C, and at some point may want a little upgrade.

Honestly I don't have a HP goal in mind. Just want it to pull like a sumumabitch. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

You're in good hands.
For all of us following this thread, it would be nice to see the car ready soon.

Good news for you and those with your same enthusiasm....the car has been under construction for some time now and great progress has been made. Hoping to have the car completed in 2-3 months. Pictures coming soon. I should have some up by the end of the day. That being said I'll be adding them gradually as I have time. Unfortunately I have to work my *** off so I can afford to cover this ludicrous project so I'll get to it when I can.

Yes, the F1X fits under the stock hood with the cartek bracket. It gets damn close to touching but it clears. If you go that route I would definitely upgrade your intake piping to 4" from the intercooler to intake. Usually not a problem clearing the hood with that as long as you have a cut down radiator.
On another note I have an extra ECS large intercooler if you need it. 3.5" in 4.0" out.

All of our mission critical parts have been ordered. Unless plans change again.

ERL 427 with LSX-LS3 heads. This was my last setup.
Never a good sign when your motor looks like this 2 days after a completed build.
Fire slotted head. Good times.
The ERL block actually took it like a champ. No big damage to block or liners. Pistons toast though.

I decided to change shops at this point and ended up in BlownBlueZo6 land. Plan was to build a nice little forged LS6, port and polish the 243 heads, throw the novi 2000 back on and then sell the car.
Little 350 or not we are gonna do things right. Cam getting degreed in here. We put forged wiseco pistons, and K1 rods and crank in the short block. 243 LS6 heads were CNC ported and flowed right at 300cfm as I recall.

Once we had the motor out we were met with a ton of wiring problems and other issues that really suck. It looked like amateur hour under the hood. I was pretty disappointed and Bret was pissed. He was gonna have to redo everything. And yes that IS my map sensor connected a 3' long vacuum line extension.
Grounds were all crap.
Everything looked like this. Starting to think that my new motor never had a fighting chance.
Random hole in my frame. Check.
