9 Speaker vs 10 Speaker Sound System

9 Speaker vs 10 Speaker Sound System
So I'm already planning my next corvette purchase (2018 C7 Z06 A10) and i'm wondering how big of a difference it is from the 9 speaker sound system in the 1LT versus the 10 speaker system in the 2LT. There is literally nothing I would want/need in the 2LT/3LT set up besides the extra speaker. I was driving home tonight with the music WAY up in my 1LT Z51 and it was awesome.
What do you guys think?

If your decision is going to be based solely on the difference in sound between 9 and 10 speakers then save your dough and go with the 1LT, it sure as hell isn't worth the extra X thousands of dollars.

There is a clear difference in bass response because the extra speaker is a sub-woofer. Whether you perceive it to be worth it or not can only be decided by you.
I have it and think it's a very respectable car audio system, but on the other hand, car audio is not in my top 10 list of reasons to purchase a particular car.

I say save the money, go for the 1LT and if you're not happy with the stereo I'm sure you could improve it in the aftermarket for way less than the cost of the 2LT package.

Visit a dealer and check it out and decide for yourself.

I think the Bose in my '16 1LT sounds times better than the Bose in my 3LT C6. But, as Dave said run by the dealer and give 'em a listen.

I'm underwhelmed by the 10 speaker Bose system, but it's OK. Would I get the 2LT/LZ specifically for the extra speaker (... and different amp)? Probably not, but as a complete package it is certainly the best overall bang for the buck available for the C7.

I have a 1LT, and am attempting to add the subwoofer. I bought the Bose sub on Ebay for $68 and looking to swap the factory amp to the one for the subwoofer (different part number), or add an aftermarket amp.
You also need to swap the rear trim for the subwoofer version, which can be bought new for $128.

It's a moot question...there is so much road noise in a corvette that considering it as a high fidelity environment is fruitless, unless, of course, it is standing still with the engine off.

Nuttin,
Ironically, that's not true in the convertible, with it's solid, insulated, rear bulkhead, which isolates the cabin from rear tire and rear mechanical noises. The convertible, with it's well-insulated top is much quieter than the coupe.

Over all I hear my 10 speaker system with no problem. I just turn it up way more when the spouse is not occupying the right seat

Mine isn't Cadillac quiet, but it does beat the coupe a bit.

The Bose system sucks and no way would I go with a 2LT just to get the extra speaker. Even with the 10 speaker system it's not very good.

LOL . . . I've owned so many different vehicle brands, and I've been on car forums for all of them since the beginning of car forums. I've NEVER been on any car forum for any make or model where someone didn't show up saying the audio system "sucks."
While I've never been a Bose fan, the C7 system is well above average as measured by "fewest number of sucks" on car forums. I didn't expect it to be all that good, but was pleasantly surprised. I think it's very respectable and far better than systems I've had on much more expensive cars, most recently my Jaguar F-Type and the premium system on my BMW E93 M3.
People's perceptions of audio quality are all over the map and generally unreliable.

I have sampled both the 10 and the 9. The 10 is a little better, but if you turn the bass up on the 9 it pretty much evens them out. If you want an LT1 it isn't worth it to go up a level just for the 10.

Why does GM insist on using crap speakers in their flagship vehicles?
Other manufacturers are opting for premium sound systems like Senheiser and Bang & Olfeson.
Is it just cost saving to go low end and expect adding more speakers makes the sound quality any better?
They should have an upgrade option. Even Acura has a better sound sytem option!!
