Default Anyone have a Stingray with Grand Sort wheels on it

I like the Gran Sport wheels and Spyder wheels, just wish they made them in Z51 sizes. I wonder how much they poke out of rear fenders. Has anyone done it?

It would be nice. The C7 Grand Sport wheels (which are the same as the 2013 427 convertible wheels) are IMO the best looking wheel ever offered by GM on a Corvette.

They are the same figment as z06 wheels and just don't fit z51. Reps would be nice in z51 figment as I agree that they are the best OEM wheel they made.

This should answer the 'look' question for you :

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...l-fitment.html

Now, what's going to cause the sun to shine just slightly dimmer for you today is the fact that, from looking at other posts, wheel makers have not gotten fitment for the base c7 quite right. The Z51 has more options that fit right than does the C7 Stingray.

I have a Stingray (Non Z51) and like you, I really like the GS wheel. As mentioned, the GS wheel will not fit the Stingray. It also appears the aftermarket companies have no plans to make this wheel in the Stingray size. Just guessing, this wheel was used on the C-6 and will probably be used just one year on the C-7 GS. I decided to order the Z06 style wheel made by Factory Reproductions and the wheels fit my Stingray perfectly and my OEM center caps also fit.

I picked up an oem set of z51 wheels and tires for my non z51 2014 car and they work perfectly . I guess Im missing why any z51 sized set wouldnt fit the same on a regular stingray ?

I think they work in that direction just not the reverse, (Sting ray wheels on a z51). Probably because of the big brakes on the z51.

Actually they do clear the bigger brakes... just barely
See this thread: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...nt-brakes.html
You need to trim the Z51 brake ducts to make the base wheels fit and any wheel weights (for balancing) have to be fully inboard.

Hmm, they made the Z06 and GS with wider rear fenders to fit the wider wheels (not because folks like a fat rear!) The standard rear tires are 285 section width and the Z06/GS 335! In the front they used silly spats to make up the width difference. Reminds me of my '74 CJ5 Jeep!

The Z51 wheel package was available as an option (along with the Z51 spoiler) for the Base car in 2016. No issue fitting Z51 larger diameter wheels/tires as the tire aspect ratio is less so the tire diameters are essentially the same. In fact in 2019 all base cars come with the larger diameter (not width) wheels.

But agree I like my Machined Faced Aluminum Grand Sport optional wheel better than my black 2014 Z51.

The way those GS wheels bend I'm happy to have the Z51 wheels.

^^^

Been ~two years, granted don't have a lot of pot holes but hit some pretty good bumps etc at speed. Wheels are perfect. May make a difference on the actual wheels purchased, i.e. my extra cost option versus base wheels.

I'll correct that. If you have stock pads you put your balancing weights inboard. Pads without the weights on the end don't need this.

Also it's not the duct per say but the brake cooling deflector that needs to be trimmed about 1 inch at the bottom.
