Slice of Americana . . . a C7 photo thread
Finally took a photo that was not on my driveway. . . and it made me think that a photo series of C7 and Americana might be kind of fun. A great chance for you lucky Route 66ers to dust off some of your photos again. Or maybe one of you lives near a Frank Lloyd Wright gas station.
So here is my submission: A classic station I just happened to find in Bayport, MN. It's pretty rare to find one where the pumps and signs are still around.

On our way home to California from our museum delivery.
Cool Springs Cabin was taken in Oatman, AZ.
And of course one from Lucille's!
Last one is from the U-Drop Inn

Loving the photos, but thought I'd post a tip. There's a lot in photography that happens in post. In the old days, it happened in the dark room, today it happens on the computer. Thought I'd give an example using one of the photos that was posted, hope you don't mind that I did this. Of course everyone's taste in how things looks is different, the point of my message is that for those that have the time and interest I would encourage you to explore it, not a lot of wizardry involved.
I use Adobe LightRoom and just mess with a lot of the sliders until I get something I like :-)
Before and after photos below.

Route 66 McLean, TX. It sux I didn't realize the dad burn date was on these pictures until it was to late. I guess we'll just have to make the run again.
Route 66 abandoned section in Glen Rio, TX
Hwy 156 (Old Route 66) just south of Tucumcari, NM heading into Santa Rosa, NM
The iconic Blue Swallow Motel in Tucumcari, NM. (Expertly photobombed by my lovely bride) A great place to stay with great owners.

I'll have to noodle around on MS Movie Maker and see what I can do.
After looking at the picture, I'm sorry I didn't lay a couple long black stripes down and come back for a before and after photo.
Oh well, maybe on another trip
