I may finally buy a Corvette
I've noticed a white corvette at a rinky dink car lot in a small town in Kansas that's been sitting for months. i finally walked around it and looked at it and it's a 95 coupe. it's in dire need of some TLC but the price is right and i think there's room for negotiations...it's not the best but it's up my alley possibly for being able to purchase. it needs a battery installed to get it running they said so i can drive it and see how it is. it has 162K miles on it. they're asking $6995.

Corvette DNA shows the value as such:
In "PROJECT" condition: $4,000
I would not consider that Vette in DRIVER condition... Personally, I would offer $3000 and walk away at $3500... For $6900 you can find a MUCH cleaner C4 with ALOT less miles...

First, is that dog dumping a load in the back?
No way that is a $7000 car
i see 3 missing parts and the seats are trashed.
Mayor, your being generous at $3500

If you are considering spending anything near $7,000 for a Corvette, you will surely get a better car than this.
As a reference point, my first Corvette was a 1995 6-speed coupe with 105,000 miles, in very good shape, didn't need anything, had nearly every option available except the ZR-1 package and even came with a few extras (car cover, extra PKE fob, original sales documentation). I paid $7800, a fair deal for that car.

It has been sitting for months because it is not worth 7K. It's not worth 5 or even 4K. Too many miles and no upkeep. Sure it can be fixed. But by the time you get it right, the value will be far less than you spent.

Seems like small town, buy here pay here think they are sitting on a piece of gold. There is one over here in Ohio, a 6-speed version of that. It has a broken transparent top, a chipped mirror, trashed carpet and is moldy inside, due to the water dripping in from the top. They want almost $8000.00 for it. The only thing going for it is it came up from down south and the underneath is immaculate.
But with water getting into and sitting in the inside, who knows what kind of damage was done without ripping out the seats and carpet.
I agree with everyone else, they want too much money for it.
There was a California car here in Ohio that was for sale for 12,000.00. It had 22,000 miles on it. They are out there. Just look harder.

Look in the fs section here see some real nice ones come up in that range sometimes where the owner isnt too proud.
Always a member in the area that will ck it out for you, transport isnt much if it gets you the right one its worth it.
There was a gorgeous blue LT1 car here a few mos back priced somewhere close it was immaculate in/out. 92 or 93 I think.

Appreciate everyone's input. I did some looking around, and it seems to me that for 7k I'm not going to get a 95. Something older, but I'm wanting the latest one I can get. I'm still going to go drive it and see how it is. Nothing to lose but a little time. I figured the mileage is actually pretty low for a 22 year old car. I drive way more than 8k miles a year. Anyways, I'll update after I drive it.

If you look here in Ohio, there are numerous NICE Corvettes, up to and including 96's (albeit automatics) for sale. Get on Craigslist for Akron and all the surrounding areas, and Cincinnati and its surrounding areas and use the Craigslist filters.
There are actually lots of cars around.
Use this http://www.searchcraigslist.org/ and you can search all the country for say xx year corvette.
Such as this search for a 95
