Penlight
Does yours still work? I was rumminging around in the car today and found my owners manual behind the drivers seat. I knew I had the ink pen and the light but I had not tried the light in recent memory. It didn't come on and it was obvious why when I opened it up. Corroded so bad the batteries wouldn't come out. Took a while, but managed to get them out. Two new AAA's and useable again.

Funny, checked mine a few months ago and it was in same condition.

Mine still works just fine. Pretty good for a 14 year old flashlight. I don't recall changing the batteries since I've owned the car - 7.5 years now.

The batteries corroded in mine, and stuck in place. I tried hitting it with WD40, for several days, but no luck.....

I checked my pen! My Batteries corroded the bulb. So
I took old batteries out, used sand paper in the chrome chamber, then used
sandpaper on the bulb. Put new batteries in and it works when I push on the end of the battery with a flash light! Okay, NOW when I put the end back with the shirt clip on to close, the button does work, clicks like it should, but no light. Obviously I've lost the contact. What gives. Suggestion

Ha! Now this is a fun thread! I never even thought about that little thing, but now, my interest was piqued.....
I carefully extracted mine out of the owner's manual case, opened it, it appears that it never had a battery in it.
-Put two new Duracells in there, and, with anxious anticipation, pressed the button............. NOTHING!
I am..... devastated.....

The penlight I got with my '02 had corroded batteries so I pulled them out and cleaned up the case and it works fnie now. But I don't carry it in the car or keep batteries in it. I have a Mini-MagLite with an LED bulb that I keep in the console. Much better light output and doesn't take up a lot of room.
