Museum Delivery Checklist
At the end of last month I ordered my first car vs. buying off the lot. I ordered a 2017 LT3 Z06/Z07 Blade Silver, Twilight Blue Package car. I'll take delivery at the museum mid May.
This is a car I hope to keep the rest of my life.
Here is my questions:
Do I need to go over the car with a fine tooth comb before driving away?
What specifically do I need to check prior to acceptance?
If I find a problem, what is the best way to handle the problem?
Does anyone have a museum delivery checklist?
THANKS!!

I have rarely heard of any issues at the museum delivery and the one incident was addressed while the couple did the plant tour. I am doing my museum delivery May 5th and a huge reason I did the museum delivery is to have zero issues when picking up the car. They make sure the car is perfect before it goes on the museum floor. Good luck

I can't help with check list but if you do your delivery the week of 5/15 and at the plant and see a GS Blade Silver and Spice Red coming down the line. Tell Silver & Spice Dad can't wait for her to be HOME. Twilight blue was my next choice I think you can't go wrong with either interior and in your case with that interior not being available any more is extra nice .Dave

They do a really good job there. I guess I would just take a few minutes lo look the paint over for any really obvious defects. Any mechanical problems can be fixed, paint issues get to be a real uphill battle once you drive away. I wouldn't stress it though, just enjoy the experience, it's a lot of fun! Congrats!

I'd echo what the others have said--there was nothing wrong with my 2015 that I did a museum delivery on 2/5/15, although I was really freaked because on the online cameras my car's interior (which is black) looked gray. Once I saw it in person, everything was cool, and it was a great time.
The other thing to remember is you own the car before you pick it up, so it's your car. That goes with the territory. Paint scratches or an interior tear is the main thing to watch for (everything else will be covered under warranty), and you won't have any of that honestly. They'll catch any of that (assuming it got off the line and didn't get caught).
The museum staff does an exceptional job prepping the car for delivery, as good as any and probably better than most Chevy dealers. Don't worry.

You will be with your guide and your car for several hours. If there's a problem, you will find it. They will take it back to the prep area and fix it. My 2000 C5 had a minor problem with a spot on the roof (I did not see it). But, they took it back to the plant and it was fixed. (about 45 minutes) Don't worry, you will be well taken care of!

I suggest at least ensuring all dealer-installed options you ordered were, in fact, installed. I took delivery there 10 days ago and while it was a great experience and the staff were fantastic, the console cover option I ordered wasn't installed.
In the excitement of the day (and it's a full schedule) I totally overlooked it and didn't notice it until I was hundreds of miles away. To their credit, the Museum shipped me the correct cover as soon as I contacted them. I switched it myself at home, so now I have an extra!
I suggest literally holding the window sticker in your hand and going down the list of options to be sure you're picking up exactly what you paid for. Also, familiarize yourself with the cargo nets and tie-downs you're supposed to have, so you will notice if they forgot to include them. That didn't happen to me but it seems like it could be an easy mistake. As far as fit and finish goes, I think the quality of the PDI overall is very good and anything else you want to focus on is a matter of personal preference.
