Default Got a surprise today

I was at a car show with my buddy yesterday and while we were sitting around I decided to look underneath his 03 Anniversary Edition and my 01 Vert - discovered my rear sway bar seemed a bit larger so I did a Google search for the Z51 suspension package which brought me to a thread in this great forum. Found out I could look in my glove box for codes and pleasantly discovered I had the Z51 package (FE3)! (one less item off my 'wish list' with zero $$ spent!) Now my question is I have slotted & drilled rotors and the red calipers w/Corvette Logos on the front and plain red calipers on the rear. I have no idea if that was an upgrade option also or if the previous owner did a swap - anyway I can check that via the glovebox codes?

Previous owner painted them and used the drilled / slotted to change up the look. I've got them on mine. Not something I would have done on my own, but they look cool enough, I guess. I need to remove the red paint for the "Corvette".

As far as the red calipers go, depending on the year and model C5 you have it could be standard. The 2001 - 2004 Z06 models came with red powder coated calipers. The drilled/slotted rotors did not come standard on any year or model C5 Corvette so those are aftermarket and add a nice visual touch.

Your 01 vert did not come standard with either the red calipers or the slotted/drilled rotors. A previous owner did those modifications to the car.

was just wondering since they look exactly like this - they were not painted by the previous owner - this is a mfg looking fit and finish - I've painted calipers myself on other vehicles - I'm guessing he just spent some extra $$ and upgraded to these - he had the factory Magnesium wheel option as well - didn;t knwo fi there was an option to upgrade brakes

The Z51 had a power steering cooler too.
Standard 3.42 gears for manual.
Standard 3.15 gears for A4.

Base model calipers and Z06 calipers are the same fitment wise.
They are a direct swap. Like you said, the previous owner put Z06 calipers on the car .
