Default [SOLVED] BluePrint 383 just mounted, fresh install and first problem

Hi,

I just finish to mount the blueprint 383 crate engine 430HP full roller... But even if the motor start correctly and run "great".

I have a really strange noise. Any advice, what you thinking about it?

Thanks

Uh oh not good..(sounds like valvetrain)first off call blueprint...(are all these motors run before shipping curious)
How is the oil pressure?

If good, remove the valvecovers one at a time restart see if its still there
sometimes the rockers can touch the inside of the valve cover depending

Hard to be sure from a video, but it doesn't sound serious to me. I'd be looking for something rubbing somewhere. Fan blade on the shroud, flywheel on the bellhousing shield, etc. Take your stethoscope and see if you can figure out where its coming from.

Did you check the rod to oil pan clearance?
A lot of 383's sound like that when you don't.

Listen under the car, if it's the oil pan (which it sounds like) it will sound much worse under the car.

It doesn't sound like valvetrain noise, but does sound more like flexplate if auto or pan noise. Good luck.

Yep. I have heard them hit the pan, hit the valve covers, tap a windage tray. It sounds like that to me. Nothing horrible, just a PITA to fix on a new build.

I had a rocker hitting the valve cover on a new ZZ383, didn't sound like that. Pull the valve covers and check for wear then move on to other areas that have been suggested.

I have installed too long of torque converter bolts and they stuck through the flex plate and rubbed, made that same sound

I just remove them and check flexplate. It seems that all is ok on them... Today i made an oil filter and oil change. Tomorrow i will initiate oil. And try to run again.

It's not the FAN because it is electric and with or without him, i have the noise...

With the engine running.
Rub your hand on the side of the oil pan up near the flange.
Start at the oil filter.

Any Shiney spots inside the valve covers? Doesn't take much.

No metal filling in the oil filterand in the oil. No shiney spot.

We solve the problem using a drill with the correct tip to start the oil pump (during 10-15 minutes). After oil perspire by rocker. We start again the engine. No more noise Just after use a stromboscopic light to make my advance right (8°, BluePrint recommande 32-34° @ 3500trs. How many @750trs?).

My Corvette will be ready soon to take the road

Thanks for your assistance.
