Default Maintaining rear vents

Hey Folks,

I have a '17 base stingray and I'm under the impression that one of the quarter panel vents is a dummy and the other leads to a transmission cooler. Around here a lot of crap falls off the trees in the spring and it's inevitable some of it will get into those vents. Is there a way to clean them out? It kinda looks like you'd need to pull the quarter panel off, can this be accessed from under the car?

The "real" vent can just be flushed with water. Stuff will just fall to the ground near the cooler. I don't have a vent that is capped off, but I would imagine you can direct a water stream into it to flush stuff back out the same way it got in.

at 5:50 in this video
it appears the air is forced through a radiator
do you think there's a way past the radiator without going through it?

thanks for the reply

From looking at the service manual I think there is a gap between the inlet duct and the cooler where stuff can fall out instead of piling up on the face of the cooler. If you want to check, just remove the rear wheel and pull the wheel well liner to inspect it. The liner comes out easily in one piece. I had mine out to remove the fuel door lock motor.

what kind of manual do you have?

I helped a buddy rebuild a 78 Triumph Spitfire tranny this weekend with a Haynes manual
it was great ;-)
