Finally test drove a C7, now I'm conflicted
Ive been shopping for a while but I decided I needed to at least drive a manual to decide if I want to stick with an M7. The manual was nice and the C7 interior is so comfortable. The visibility wasn't all that great, but I think I could get used to that.
The problem now is that I got to see the Long Beach Red in person. Its phenomenal! Such a beautiful color but I have been looking at 2014/2015s so I could afford a 2LT (maybe Z51). Now I'm considering a new 1LT but I feel like I would really miss the HUD and vented seats...
How close is the older red metallic color to the Long Beach red?

I personally think Long Beach Red looks nice but that Crystal Red is prettier.

^^^ I need to see the Crystal Red in person. A friend of mine works for a dealer near Atlanta and they have a 2LT Z51 manual in the Crystal Red that Im definitely thinking about. Their price sucks though...
The black rose is a lot darker in person than I thought it would be.

Nope. It's Crystal Red though it's a bit tough to tell in the picture.
They're actually quite different though both look great on the car. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder so only you can decide which is the better color for you. Having said that, when it comes to cars I've always believed in not compromising unless absolutely necessary. If a Long Beach Red 2LT is what you want, do your best to make it happen. Call one of the large forum supporting dealers and see what they can do for you on the car you want; you could be pleasantly surprised. It's much less painful to pay a little more for what you want than to save a few bucks on a car that you'll be unhappy with.

I had Crystal Red on my 09 and thought about LBR for my 16.
Only way you'll know is to see the colors in person, and in different light.
Sun and shade make a big difference just like with Crystal Red.
LBR is definitely a great color, but for me personally, when I saw it in person, compared to Crystal Red it is a lot darker, and I went with Shark Gray.
Good luck choosing your new ride

Pictures don't do LBR justice sometimes. I've been visiting Matick Chevy a few times, and they usually have a few in stock. Even though I'm not getting Long Beach Red, it's really a great color. I'd venture to say that it's the most underrated color in the current lineup.

So far I've owned a 3LT C5 Vette, a 4LT C6 Grand Sport, a 2LZ C6 Z06 and now a 1LT Grand Sport. I do not miss the HUD in the least. I think it was a neat feature on the older generations with the analog gauges.. On these new HD Digital gauges / infotainment systems on the 7th gen cars, HUD is an unnecessary expense IMO. The heated seats were also unnecessary on a car that will never see temps below 40*. Navigation in todays vehicles is an over priced option when you can simply use the cars WiFi hotspot for your phone navigation apps or your own data plan if you have unlimited data plan like I do, The phone apps are always up to date and provide real time traffic info (Waze). When I priced out my car, I found I rather spend the additional $$ on other features.
The Long Beach Red is stunning in the sun! My old C5 Vert was Magnetic Red II and everyone used to comment on the color.

AXIS, if you've never owned one with the HUD you won't miss that feature. The C7's display is easily seen while driving. I had to go with a 1LT from our C6 3LT because the seats in the C7 2/3LT's hurt the wife's back (we think that's due to the cooling fan panel in the upgraded seats). But I digress. I really haven't missed the HUD, or the heated seats. Good luck on your decision.
