While you're at it you might want to order some memory enhancing pills since you were a contributor to this thread

I do that all the time... have the same idea 2 years apart, forgot that I asked about it already in some old thread, and people wind up quoting my own post back to me! Wait'll I get old :-)

I was wondering what HX pump you were talking about, but it looks like others have figured out it must be the CAC pump you're talking about.

As noted in the earlier post, there's a forum member's solution.

Or, forum vendor GSpeed has this switch that can easily be installed/removed when working on the intercooler coolant system:

lol. I seen that thread. I don't quite understand his wiring setup. I just need to turn it on to bleed the system. I don't want to order the switch because I'm trying to finish today and getting the car tuned so they will run the pump full time. Just trying to figure out how to jump that fuse to keep the pump running long enough for me to get the air out.

That 15 amp fuse in the fuse box that's noted in the link goes directly to the intercooler pump, if you turn the ignition to run the pump will run, or you can apply 12 volts to the terminal closet to the passenger compartment with that fuse removed. The terminal that is closest to the front of the car has 12 volts when the key is turned on.
I have bled my system by just turning the key on, I am currently configuring a switch so I can run the pump without turning the key on.

Just jump the left terminal on that 15 amp fuse in the picture to hot (you can use the hot post to the left). A paper clip will work fine. That will turn the pump on.

Im sorry for being slow but exactly what needs to be done to do this?

ive emailed GSpeed about a switch as they're currently backordered. Can I borrow someone else's switch? PM me.

I want to attempt to get my bubbles out.

Best,
Gene

If you have a friend with HP Tuner you can turn it on very easily with the vehicle controls. No wiring or anything, just plug into the OBDII port.

1. This doesn't flash anything right? No warranty nonsense? I'm 99% sure it's a no but want to be sure.

2. I don't have a friend who has this but maybe I can be that friend and help myself out. Then again I have tremendous fear for what would happen if HPtuner, myself, and my 40k miles Z06 get together.

Gene

Per another thread on the same subject, someone who tried this said it only turned it on for a short time, something like 30 seconds.

Does not have to be tuned to turn the pump on. Warranty is safe!

Possibly so. I have not ran it other than just to give it a try. And the pump does turn on.

One thing I forgot to mention is you would need a laptop to open the HPT scanner to use the controls.

Were back in stock, sorry for the delay!

Believe it or not, I dont recall HP tuners being able to turn the pump on. Because its on its own circuit, its not like the Zr1 where you can command the pump to turn on. Someone please fact check this. Ill plug into a car here just to verify.

If your pump is turning on for 30 seconds, it probably has air in it and shutting down.

Dude. Thank you very much for the offer! Once I saw the post below I figured best to support the vendor but thank you.

Ordered!

p.s. you're website still says it's on backorder.

Now hopefully I can get more out of this thing than I put into it while messing the whole process up.

Best,
Gene

I have an Autel scanner I use at my business, it will turn the pump off and on, it does however have a timeout feature. I have not timed it yet, but I am thinking it will run it 2-3 minutes. I will check and verify it this weekend.

383vett is saying to add 12 volts to this side of the intercooler fuse (I circled it in red) and the pump will run as long as you are touching 12 volts to this side of the fuse. Be careful and do not let the 12 volt jumper touch ground or anything else, in fact you may want to add an inline fuse holder to your jumper lead for safety.
