Parking Brake Handle Bolt

Parking Brake Handle Bolt
Hi
My Parking brake handle bolt that is actually in the chassis had kindly sheared off and is now inside the box section, I was going to buy some weld bolts here in the UK as that seems the only way to get a nut fixing back onto the chassis to bolt the parking brake back to it
Wondered If anyone knew the size of the nut, I can measure the bolt obviously but would like to be accurate. I have googled it and can't find, the mm/inch size
Any help appreciated
Cheers
Richard

Using GOOGLE try to find yourself a vendor that sells something similar to this in the UK. Use the images feature to do a visual comparison of some of the various materials/styles.

I'm assuming you're talking about #16 in this image - if that's not correct maybe explain a bit further exactly what you did intend. I believe that there's actually likely a pair (2) of these bolts retaining the e-brake lever. Different length? Likely!

Hi, Thanks for the reply
Sorry the year is a 92
Yes #16 is the bolt and it's the nut that this bolts into, that is now missing...
I have a guy that can do me a favour and weld a nut on, I was thinking something like this?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TEE-SPOT-W...dqlws-8XbWTZwQ
(I know zilch about welding) but thought as there is a rectangle hole left this would work?
There are 2 bolts the other one is fine, its the one as you pointed out that runs through the center pivot pint on the actual handle
Could you still weld a rivet nut?
Cheers again

You didn't mention year but I believe that all C4 the bolt you've referenced is M8X1.25X25 so some sort of riv-nut I'd think the better choice. If you've access to a pneumatic installation tool I'd think it best because that would make the choice of material much larger.

A "weld nut" will do you well and if you've a guy that can accommodate you (a volunteer maybe) I'd say you're good.
Here's a link to some dimensional data for style faster you'd like to use. I'd think if you had the image "in hand" you could find them local without the need to buy a quantity or pay shipping. Many fabrication shops might have them. The M8 might be a harder find.

*** I see on the eBay link you provided that you can actually buy a 2 pack. Is that price attractive? Maybe less aggravation? You might ask your welder about the BZP finish that's mentioned. An M8 is maybe large enough that you could pop-rivet and use an adhesive to retain/seal it. Is the eBay seller local?
