Another Halltech Stinger-RZ dyno...+70 RWHP
I'm pretty amazed as well. +50 is the average, with a dozen or so in the mid 50s, two dozen in the high 40s, but +69.87 RWHP?
I emailed the Texas Speed customer, and he validated that the Stinger-RZ was the only mod. No TRIC ram air onboard. No tuning.

Big thanks to my cousin Lenny Wu and his company LWS who did the custom tuning for my car.
Haltech intake is AMAZING for this results together with HP tuner pro.
Stay tuned we going to install heads, cam, new Magnuson charger and some other goodies.
Our goal is 900RWHP and high '8s on the strip.
Very excited...!!

So 70hp means 7/10s gain in the 1/4 mile or at least 7 mph gain in 1/4 vs stock. So with my current best of 10.58 at 133.xx and the addition of a tune and halltech cai, I should see 9.80s at 140mph in the 1/4....wow

You all realize that the 70 WHP translates to near 100 HP at the crap? Oh I mean crank.
So the windmill stick I taped to my new intake should yield at least 50 more HP...Wow! with a tune of course.

I posted the dyno and results, then got a follow up where I asked about tuning but saw it last night. I was going to get back and post the correction, but I had 240 emails to sort through which took two days to get through.
On a separate but similar issue, Hypertech called last week with results, (which I will not post here), and they have developed a tune for our Stinger-RZ, which Halltech will have the exclusive rights to. For whatever reason, the customer did not want to keep our free intake for his trouble. Bottom line, the numbers were also over the top, and since he did not want our intake, I will not be posting them.

The tune was responsible for the majority of the gains, not the intake!

According do their website this unit is compatible with C7 Corvettes. A little disconcerting that it says compatible with 6 or 8 speeds.
Does this unit help with the number check at the dealer like the Diablo?

Best,

A proprietary tune they developed for our intake.
Tuning is the term for many different changes made to the stock tune.
One of the benefits of our intake is that we pretune our intakes from the factory. There is a combination of factors that contribute to the 50 RWHP we have seen on 28 dynos sent unsolicited to Halltech, by different shops.
1) Leaner air fuel mix to 12.4:1
2) Parasitic pumping loss recovery with the high flow filter (the supercharger does not have to work as hard)
3) Increased volume of air available in real time for the supercharger to compress, increasing boost by .4 PSI or more.
TRIC Ram Air increases air volume with forced air to the throttle body, increasing boost to 11.5 to 12 PSI
If a Z06 has been tuned, the tuning will capture a portion of the benefit the Halltech intake makes without tuning. Air fuel ratio. Tuning cannot reduce pumping losses or increase boost with the restrictive air filter and small airbox designed for the LT1 engine.
Bottom line. If you compare a tuned LT4 with an untuned Halltech intake, the difference will not be as great as our intake alone without tuning, since tuning reveals some of the same real estate (HP) as our intake.
Sub Bottom line. Tuning can void your warranty, our intake does not.

As for the gains, we'd need to know what the car made with a dedicate similar tune without the intake. The rest is just noise, there's no real baseline. All we do know is that the tune AND intake if sold as a package make 70hp, but it could be from either. Heck, one could be adding 80 and one taking away 10, we don't know!

That's good that a handheld tuner is being produced. You can pull the tune right before you enter the dealer parking lot for whatever service is being done. Hopefully no engine lights, then put it back in later....no warranty problems.
