How do guys and gals feel about using an automatic carwash with under carriage rinse after being at the beach for a couple of days. When I get home, it is straight to work, so car will set for at least three days before I can give it any attention.....

I would definitely be worried about the optispark. In a rainstorm, you usually don't have water being sprayed up into the engine bay with a lot of pressure.

Completely anecdotal, but when I first got my 93, I took it through a touchless car wash and shortly after developed a really bad miss and had to replace my opti. It's possible it was already on the way out, but still, personally I wouldn't risk it.

When I say undercarriage wash, you simply drive over a hose spraying the under side. That part is over as fast as you move across it.

Did you drive it in the ocean or just park it in the lot? You can't get to it for a couple of days?

If you just parked it at the lot, I'd just wait for the next rain storm and go for a ride.

My car does not have an opti, but I tend to agree with the guys that worry about straight up water being injected all under the hood.

You may be trying to fix a problem that you dont have.

Make sure you don't have the famous hole underneath it. Many of these have a damaged floor on them and it would blow water up.

Its a c4, tons of them and not valuable. Its a GM not a Ferrari drive it wash it don't worry about it.

Real C4 enthusiast we have there. Makes you wonder why he bothers to lower himself to posting comments in the C4 forum. Komiller118, you had a great question. Too bad you had to get such a ridiculous reply. You may want to just take a garden hose and spray under your Corvette. You will see what you're spraying and you'll do just as good a job, maybe better.

Wash by hand, 2 bucket method, spray under with hose from front of doors to the back and you should be good with or without opti, what year? If you must touchless wash choose no underwash option
