How to remove old lock cylinder and install new lock cylinder?

Follow the link above but on some GM vehicles the hole where the tab pops through To hold the lock cylinder in is covered by a thin layer of aluminum. When they cast the columns the casting is usually chipped away but if it's not, you have to guesstimate and pick at it with a small chisel until you can press that tab in.

On 82 its a bolt.

Yep. 79 or so.

Get yourself a lock plate tool, a 5/16" x 1" set screw, and a horn contact retainer.. I guarantee that plastic part will shatter when removed.
