Weak seat cooling?
Just upgraded from a C6 to C7 and one of the features I was looking forward to, on top of many, were the ventilated seats. I do feel air movement but it is very minimal. Does anyone know of an way to get more air flow from the fans or more powerful replacement fans?
Thanks,
Greg

The seats are ventilated not cooling. It's pushing ambient air temp inside the cabin. If you can divert a/c air downward, it might help some. The heated seats are not any better. Worst I've ever had

yep - they are not cooling seats which makes no sense in todays world - but is what it is - if you have air movement - its working - as good as it gets.......tough in southern states. They work well when your sweating golf ***** down your back - then it feels cool

I find the ventilated seat (I've only tried the driver's side) works great...and I am in hot AZ where we need them! In fact, I only have used the lowest setting (so far - temps in the 90s) because my butt gets too cool on higher settings.

The C7 seats are a compromise, but good enough for me.

Yep the ventilated seats work best when the A/C is on the floor, and you are sweaty.
Think of it as a personal swamp cooler for your backside.

I find mine work fine; I have the competition seats with suede inserts and the suede probably allows better airflow.

Turning the ac on and keeping it directed to the floor seems to work best for me. the heated seats are terrible-shame on GM.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I find the areas where I'm in contact with the seat are the areas where I get no air movement due to not having enough air pressure to push through the perforated leather. It ends up coming out the areas where by butt and back are not. Maybe I will take one of the seats apart and see if I can boost the air pressure. I'll document the process if I do.

literally they do suck
years of the same old wrong information. These seats SUCK the heat from your clothes through the back and exhaust through the back/bottom.
They do do not blow air at your body THEY SUCK
this is why it's dininishing returns after time. Once all the heat is sucked from your clothing it doesn't have any effect. In the bigger vehicles the seats work so good they do feel like AC but again they are sucking the air from you not blowing.
ps raise the seat bottom up an inch and use the ventilated seats and you'll feel twice the effect

They blow, not suck. I did a smoke test two years ago and confirmed it.
The reason the effect diminishes, is that once your clothing/skin dries off, the evaporative cooling effect dissapears.

There was some bad info floating around about them sucking! Fans don't do that as well as blow!

Ok. In florida when I get home next week I'll put saran wrap on the seat and video it and report the results.
if the fans are blowing air into the seat they'd be the first in gm or Chrysler/Jeep god etc to do so. They all SUCK AIR FROM the seat.
finding good research on this on the Web is tough but here's a little bit I found to shed some light
See those vents on the seat back of the tahoe? Hot air comes out of there when the seat vents are on.

couldn't hyperlink two but i included the Google search for you guys to copy paste if you want.
I, like you guys thought it was some type of ac system etc. I was amazed to find out the truth. They're just fans pulling Hot air from you. Almost like if you put your mouth up to your shirt sleeve and breathed in. You experience a Cooling effect from hot air moving from your skin through your shirt.

my 2014 'ventilated' seats are weak in texas heat-heat and a/c however-in such a small space-seem to work well

Respectfully, 16/C7Z, you can post things that happen on other cars, but that does not prove it true for the Corvette.
There was one document that came out in late '14 or early '15 that had erroneous info and stated that the seats pulled air, but that proved to be a bad bulletin.
There have been many threads on this subject, and many people who have tested this and the results have consistently shown that the seat fans blow.
They may blow slowly, but blow they do.
