Default I want a C7 coupe for around $40k, not much more

let me know what you got I'm extremely serious and located in upstate NY (Elmira). Looking to purchase a C7 I'd prefer Manual but not opposed to Auto but would really prefer a z51 or a decently options out base. Text me with pictures and options and the vin if you're close to $40 and within driving distance 300-500 miles of Central NY. (Elmira/corning) 607-215-5539

Not easy to find this bc the C7 is depreciating at a slower rate than projected.

They are out there tho. Keep an eye on this forum. you will NOT find a better price.

No offense meant to any forum members, but this forum is the worst place to look for good prices, generally speaking. The cars listed here are typically pristine and frequently garage queens with emotionally attached owners.

Try CarMax and Autotrader if what you're looking for is a bargain Vette. They're out there in droves. It's easy to find many 2014 1LT with some miles for less than $40k all day long.

it just depends what you want, if you don't mind having a c7 with some miles on it and a little wear you can find one for that price. if you want a pristine ultra low mileage car that was babied and is in perfect condition this forum is a great place to look. it may cost a few thousand more but if you're spending $40k + why not get the best car you can. good luck with your search.

You can say that again. People selling there Vette's for RETAIL prices.

I'll pay a little over KBB its's a nice clean vette especially if it has some mods. But not 1000s OVER!!

I just did a nationwide search on Autotrader for ANY C7 for $40,000 or under and 10 came up; 1 was a typo and 2 were salvage/rebuilt. A 4th had 101,000 miles.

I would not call that "all day long".

If those 9 cars are there tonight, then I would say you're objectively wrong.

Plus, AutoTrader is not the only source.

You're making my case for me.

Curious, what are you gonna do with the C7. Why a C7? I have a '16 Z51, nice car. If I had it to do over I think I would buy a '04 Z06 garage queen, maybe a Commerative Edition.

I just checked Cars.com and they have four C7's $40,000 and under. Carmax has ZERO.

If I'm making your case I guess you and I have a different definitions of "all day long" and "in droves". I would not consider 10 units nationwide give or take a large pool to choose from.

Yeah I don't know what these other guys are talking about saying there are low priced C7s everwhere.

Thats why I said this forum is the best for prices. I should have said specifically the best for low prices. I can see how super low mile Vettes would sell for a lot anywhere including here, they are practically new and ppl expect those almost-new prices. Do they get them? Different topic.

But yeah, I have done the search for 40k Vettes several times and there's almost nothing. Its probably bc I always search for manual but I doubt many autos are available still. I have seen a ton priced in the mid 40's with too many miles for the price. 40k must be some grand barrier no one wants to pass even w/ high miles.

A lot more should pop up this fall

I would rather have a nice C6 or C5 than a beat C7. You can get a nice C6 GS coupe, manual for you $40k.

Most used dealer cars are marked up $4K+.

Use Cargurus and search for cars around $42-46K and I suspect $40-42K is attainable when you find cars that have been sitting for 60+ days.

Also this is the worst time of year to buy a Corvette. I noticed used prices have crept up since April and I suspect sellers will try to keep the prices as high as they can through summer. If you can wait a few months the prices will come down, especially when 2018's are hitting lots in droves.

hahah a 40k C7 is beat up? A 40k C7 will have about 25-30,000 miles which sure is a lot for a sports car but guaranteed it will have been cared for much better than any other class of car w/ that mileage.

Super base but great price bc of the mileage.

How's that for a beat up C7?

Yes they have! I've been watching them for a while and from January until March-April prices jumped an average of $5000 for the same cars. Low mileage 2015 Z51's 2&3LT's were $45K all over, now they're $50K+! That's why I'll wait until Fall/Winter when prices will be more reasonable/realistic. Maybe even get lucky on used GS.
