Default Targa Top gaskets

On my 05 Coupe the weather strip around the car where the targa top sits are white and chalky. If I use some 303 or similar to brighten them up again will they start to creak and make noise. Or what do you guys use on weather striping.

GM has weatherstrip lubricant.. I've never used it. but i have used some 3M stuff on a brush that will lubricate it. my top was creaking bad until i did that.

Can't speak to the GM product, but I've been using Gummi Pflege for years and swear by it. Unlike most others, it actually swells and rejuvenates the rubber seals. They sell it at BMW dealerships or it can be bought online if you google it. I used it to de-creak my Vette's targa roof.

Another vote for the Gummi Pflege.

Thanks for the input guys I got some Gummi on order. Will give it a try before spending 85 bucks. It doesn't creak now I'm just trying to improve the way the rubber looks. After reading the posts I'm almost afraid to touch it but I've never been known for good reason.

I used dielectric grease on my C5 coupe when I had it, and now on my C6 vert.

I used plumber's silicone grease on the metal parts and Griot's Vinyl Dressing on the rubber parts about 2 years ago. No noise since.
