Thanks to everyone for suggesting shippers for the red thing. It's safely in its new home. Looking forward to lots and lots of driving between June and October from now on and Friday afternoon cruises with the local antiques ending at Wasse's Hot Dogs parking lot. Never again have to sit in traffic in 100 degree heat and humidity with no AC.

Congrats and enjoy it. Nice cool summers up there. Been through Belfast many times on the way to Bar Harbor. Nice country.

I'm still in Texas for another 2 weeks. The wife is already in Maine. Had the place in Belfast since '03 but am just now using the place for what was intended, not to be within a thousand miles of the gulf coast during the summer. Keeping my principal residence in Texas, tho. Will spend the winters here and head north for the summer. Guess that makes me one of those snowbirds. A long held dream finally come to pass!

And if he's just bought an old Corvette, he's now as poor as the King of the Road in the song, or soon will be.

I spent 19 months working in the Bangor area, 'lobsta' was so cheap when I was there that the Red Lobster chain went out of business in Maine (3 for $10 in local restaurants, even cheaper roadside...); you could even get lobster rolls at McDonalds....

Belfast ME used to have a small railroad running into town. Belfast & Moosehead Lake RR. No idea whether it's still operating but think I heard the locals wanted it gone so they could build more development.
If I lived up there I'd weigh 300 lbs. I don't know if one gets tired of lobster after a while, but I'd sure like to find out!
