Of course I have the magnetic ride and shocks are all leaking and that's the price the stearlership wants. Do I have any other options? OMG help!

The F55s are nice shocks, but the price is . If it were on my car, I'd be putting some conventional shocks on it.

Might find some gently used ones from someone who has deleted the F55 RPO on their car or from one of the Corvette recyclers. Don't expect to get even used super cheap....

Alternatively you can find someone with a Tech II that will delete the F55 RPO from the BCM. That allows you to unstall conventional shocks which will cost around $300 for all 4. Without deleting that RPO the vehicles speed will be limited to 80MPH and messages will appear in the DIC each time you start the car (if you attempt to install conventional shocks).

Last choice would be to convert to coil overs but you still need to find someone with a TECH II to remove the F55 RPO.

Procedure to delete the F55 via the TECH II is available ifrom any of several threads on the Forum.
Thank you!!

HR03,

You might call http://www.wongsperformance.com in Vancouver and see if they have a Tech2 that can do the delete.
Or post up on https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...northwest-127/ asking if anyone has a Tech2 that can do the delete.

Yep he does!! Talked to him yesterday. Get my Z06 shocks from GM tomorrow morning. Tom is going to install them and delete magna ride. He built my motor about seven years ago. Did a wonderful job and I have had zero issues. Thanks Jim

Congrats!

Haven't used Tom yet myself but always hear great stuff about his work!
Would like to know what the F55 Tech2 delete service costs for future reference. My 03 just passed 32k so I hope for no worries for awhile. But she is 14 years old. But since the damn "shock stuffers" were still in my F55s until a year ago I don't think the shocks got much wear.

Just below Roseburg off of I5
If you need the info on how to remove the RPO I have it and I'm sure others do also

If you want some nice shocks, purchase the GM C6 ZO6 shocks. They bolt right in and make the car handle excellent. I got mine from Gene Culley. They cost right around $350 for all for new in the box...

I have them on my 02 ZO6.

Removing the F-55 RPO from the BCM is easy. Most forum members will do it for free. LOL!
