Default 1972 coupe for sale very low miles

I'm helping a friend sell his 72 corvette coupe. He is the original owner of the car and it currently has 18,612 miles. It is Mille miglia red with an automatic transmission. The car is optioned pretty well with power steering and brakes, tilt and telescopic wheel, air conditioning and leather interior. It is a numbers matching car that would be easy to get survivor status or would make a nice weekend cruiser.
We have the original sales paper work , window sticker and the tank sticker is still in it's original location. We have some paper work to verify the mileage but the condition of the car speaks for the mileage that's on it. The paint is all original and is showing it's age well but is showing some checking. If somebody needs additional pics please feel free to ask.
I will try to check my PMs frequently but can respond to text easier.
My number is 304-312-0569
The car is located in the northern West Virginia
$ 28,000

Very nice looking car. Off topic, but I was made in Benwood!

Since you mention "survivor status" in your ad, do you know any of the maintenance history on this car? Has the engine been pulled at some point in the past?
For an 18xxx mile car, I notice the water pump, spark plug wires, upper radiator hose, radiator cap and various hose clamps have all been replaced.
The metal fuel line has been removed and replaced with a rubber line & fuel filter. Is the original carb still in place?
There's a loose wire hanging visible near the alternator.
The engine stamp pad has also been painted (it shouldn't be).

Site users sometimes list Corvettes for a friend or relative who is unable to market and sell the car for themselves for some legitimate reason. Those listing cars or parts they do not personally own must make this clear in their sales thread, posting the circumstances and the role they will play in the sale as well as in addressing any post-sale issues. Potential buyers should be aware of who the actual owner of the car or parts is and who would be responsible for potential disputes.

To give a little more information why I'm listing the car for my friend he is 70 years old and not very computer savvy. He also now resides in Florida and the car is back here in West Virginia and I live in this area I will be able to car get pictures or show any prospective buyers that want to see the car.
Thanks. George

Thanks for your interest Revi , he told me he had new valve stem seals put in some years ago and they did a little painting then to freshen up the engine bay. The water pump, plug wires and other things that you pointed out were maintenance items that were performed through the years. As far as we know it is the original carburetor and I can get numbers from it if someone wants to verify its original.
Thanks. George

Please also provide an explanation as to the role you will play in the sale, including handling disputes after the sale, per the rules Moderator Tact posted.

The rules changed very recently allowing people to list for a friend, but this information is required to do so.

My role in this sale will be to take care of the responses to this thread and show the car to prospective buyers and or provide pics or other information to further the sale. The actual sales transaction will be with the owner but I will do what I can to help this run smoothly. We hope to not have any disputes after the sale. The car is sold as is and I would recommend any potential buyers inspect the car before the sale. We are not trying to hide anything I'm just trying to help a friend who is not computer savvy.
Thanks. George

looks like a nice honest car, the fact that wear items that leak are already addressed are a good thing. How many running around like this, not very many.

For only 18K miles please forgive me but I'm a bit skeptical about all the changes under the hood. Many parts and hardware look repainted. Modern wire covers, all hose clamps and hoses, the master cylinder cap is a replacement. There are parts that time deteriorates and people are apt to replace, but there is a lot of cosmetic work that looks fresh. Why does everybody get rid of the air pumps after they leave the dealer?
All this aside, good luck with your sale, it should sell fast.

Thanks for your reply, as I said before he had new valve stem seals replaced years ago and at the time they did a little freshening up under the hood. Within a few min of looking at this car in person you can tell with the different signs that this is an original one owner car in good condition for its age.
Thanks. George

This is really the only wear in the interior at all.

Do you know if everything works on the car, cold a/c, lights, wipers, gauges. What is the condition of the frame and suspension components, surface rust, pics would be good. Does it have original spare, jack, tools, t-top bags, etc. Beautiful car.

Thanks for your interest, everything works on the car except the clock, the ac will need a charge. The car was Z (barted)when new and is in very good shape underneath with little surface rust. I don't have a lift so pictures would be hard to get of the undercarriage. It has the original spare and I will have to look for the tools and jack, i don't believe he has the Ttop bags. I am currently out of town but can check on these other things if needed when I get back.
Thanks. George

It looks like the A/C has been converted to R134A is that right? Any receipts on that work? Also has there been any work done to the brakes, like stainless sleeved calipers? It's a great looking car.
