Need advise on 07 Z06.
Hello everyone,
I'm new to this forum, but I'm considering buying a one owner 2007 Z06 with 15,000 miles. I know there is the valve issue, but what else should I look for? Looking at the carfax the car had wiring harness installed is that a concern? This is going to be my first vette and I want to make sure that I get something I will be happy with for years to come, so any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks!
Here is the link to the car I'm considering:

It looks like a nice car. Check tires, because if they need replacing, you're looking at $1k for the cheap options. I just paid $36k even for a 2007 2LZ w/ 7500 miles in November. I had to do tires (OE were still on the car) and addressed the heads with WCCH fixed ones.

I just bought the 32K mile twin sister to this car except looking at the pics I am not sure your car has side impact air bags(the site says no under safety). It was important to me with a disc removed from my neck and it might be important to you? Nice choice

Only other real concerns besides checking all the common issues is they are 10+ year old GMs. Things are starting to wear out, electronics act up, rubber/bushings/seals starting to go out. Not saying it is a huge concern, but just something to be aware of and plan for.
Check for all the recalls, there is 3-4 of them. Check the common failures/tsb issues. Axle nuts, end links, steering wheel sensor. Check the rocker panels for cracks, and front end below splitter for damage that is common, if you care about that. Inspect rotors for heat cracks, and check conditions of brake pads. Check for clean/clear clutch and brake fluid. See if the master cylinder has been replaced, or plan on replacing it. Check for proper operation of the clutch return spring. They like to break.
If possible pull intake to check for excessive oil behind TB. People/dealers love to overfill the oil, and it will dump excess into the intake/filter.
Check for an aftermarket tune, skip shift, or other mods.

Buy it, check the guides, or mod the heck out of it and have fun...

Clutch master cylinder If the clutch pedal drops or does not return it needs to be replaced. GM sent out a letter about this. If your car is under ten years and 100K. They will replace free. They will only service when the pedal doesn't return. I had to get my car towed to the dealer. My fluid was not dirty.

I would take it to an independant LS/Corvette shop before a Chevy dealer, and ignoring the head issue is a mistake.

I was being sarcastic guys! I'm located in Elm Hurst, but I'm willing to drive. Would you know how much would parts and labor cost to get this done? Also, what year did Chevy address this issue? I appreciate all your help and advise.

Sure looks great. I am certainly not biased, having the exact same year with almost identical mileage..
That said, wouldn't be out of this world crazy to ask them to throw in a service agreeement.
I will make the harmless comment that stock tires don't work on these cars. I have felt my car drift on all 4 corners before. Pretty scary. Get a warrantee/service deal/GMPP, get some sticky rubber, be happy, stay in your lane, go really fast, get lots of tickets, lol.
