In Search of My Father's C3
Hello all,
I'm trying to track down my father's 1977 Stingray. I know, not an easy task, but why not give it a shot. If anyone has any suggestions for me it would be greatly appreciated!
Here's everything I know:
White 1977 Stingray
VIN #1Z37L7S122975
T-tops, side pipes, rear spoiler, 350 manual, tan interior, Cragar wheels, front spoiler/splitter, aftermarket raised stainless or chrome gas cap, aftermarket alarm system with a key on the driver side (put key into fender essentially, weird I know), red pinstripes down the side.
Traded in to Jack Byrne Ford in Mechanicville, NY in November, 1983.

Based on the VIN (if it is correct), your dad's car is a late January '77 build with likely the blue block and was 31 units ahead of mine. And don't weird out the fender alarm - it was factory! It's a great conversation starter. Good luck with your search!

Thanks for the input everyone! I had expected to be notified each time I got a response and wasn't, so I wasn't ignoring! I think I'm going to start with the dealer my father traded it in to, then I got a tip about a "good" DMV in the area that might be able to help me. I'm taking all suggestions though! So any other thoughts are appreciated!

Did you check the 1977 Corvette Registry? Again a long shot but long shots have been known to come through.
Also, small point of note, in 1977 they dropped the "Stingray" name from the Corvette so you are searching for a 1977 Corvette Coupe. I have owned two of them and went back and checked my VIN numbers. Sorry that neither match your search but good luck to you.
Best regards,
David
