Default A8 gremlin strikes again!

Early 2016 vert. Delivered August 14th, 2015. Drove home last night all systems normal. Tried to back out of the garage this afternoon, trans was slipping big time . Reverse and forward. Barely made it back into the garage. I will call dealer tomorrow.

Don't know how cold it is where you're at, but if you leave it sit in gear for 3-4 seconds after you put it in D or R, does it help? Or if you wait it out a bit does it still slip?

It was around 60 degrees. I always let my cars run for a few seconds before slaming it in gear to back out of the garage. Unlike my wife does. LOL ! always in a hurry, she is. But i had a funny feeling about this so yesterday before i called the Dealer too tell them i needed a tow, i started it up and , of course it started to drive fairly normally. They did a software update? on it. See
med ok when i drove it back. Will know for sure this week when i start my daily driving.

I've been barking up that tree for 20 years, no luck! My wife can do it all in one continuous, fluid motion: start car, put on belt, shifter in R, shoulder check. All simultaneously.

I've tried to explain why the 4-5 seconds of grace period would be good for the car, but it doesn't appear to stick... or she doesn't care!

Hope the software update cures your issue!

Not my experience with women drivers. It always seems that when they get into the car in a parking lot, they have to "adjust everything" they are wearing and check and fix their make up in the rear view mirror, etc.

It takes women FOREVER to get out of a parking space.
