my C6Z lsx/lme build (add suggestions/hints)
So car was running like crap ran compression and 90# on #1 cylinder and has bad rings.
currently: A&A V3Ti 3.6", ARH Headers, AHP stage 4 heads, Lg cam, meth,BB Bullets no cats
Ordered a 427lsx short block from LME and i plan to pulley down on the v3Ti
Anything i should be adding or upgrading while doing this project?
ati balancer? are all the failures still common
katech oil pump or just run new factory?
going to start research on clutch now as well once it will be apart.
also what do you think i could get for my current ls7 short block that will need to be re-ring?

Fuel system and cooling system are going to be the two big things
Clutch/drivetrain
Balancer/belt system
Stock oil pump is fine IMO. Katechs are great for road racing type setups, but street/1/2 mile stuff stock works fine.
$2500ish for your current motor (based off what a good one sells for ~$3500).

What compression are they building that at? I'd do a Mantic triple over the McLeod.

I actually like the idea of the 1500. Should make for an awesome car.
Mantic triple over RXT for sure.
If you were not set on a 427 I would do a stock cube or 390ci aluminum motor.

for right now plan is to do short block and new clutch and pulley down on the 6 rib to a 3.4 then i will go bigger blower later.
does the mantic triple has a little slip to it for driveability. i still use it for a street car.
would you guys go ati dampner or just keep factory? i seem to read alot of failure with them when searching.

I left it all connected and in the car. Just had the compressor hung by a coat hanger in the chassis.

I would leave the engine harness on the car not removing it with the engine.
You will have to lower the front subframe to remove the engine.
Do not disconnect anything on the A/C freon system. Radiator can stay in the car.

Should I buy a new oil pump or re run current? Mine only has 14k miles on it.
will be ordering the 8rib set up from AA once it comes with the dampener I wanted and will max out my supercharger.
also going to order the mantic triple. For street car I assume I need the 9000 not the 7000?
Let's here recommendations on 6 bolt heads? LME suggested the brodix and I'd pull valvetrqin out of current ahp heads I have now

I don't think they even make a 7000 triple. Yes you want the triple.
Do what LME suggest.
I would do 10 rib if possible.

If your intention is to max out the blower, then I agree that going with a 10 rib is likely a better plan.
And, at this point, why not a 6 bolt head?
Brodix makes good stuff, but (I'm pretty sure) they don't offer Ti valves in their heads.
Might want to look into buying some bare heads. I'm a fan of TFS.
But, What does LME suggest?

LME would be working the castings and replacing valves/etc anyways, so choice of valves should be an option.
That being said, not every car/setup needs a Ti valve. I know Feldman runs SS intake valves on his 1460rwhp c6 with his mast heads. Setting a car up for 6600 shift points, with the correct cam/etc and running a heavier valve works out great in a lot of cases. The trannys don't like to shift high anyways, so if I was doing another build, I would focus on max power from 4500-6500.

for sure do what LME says. Brian knows his shiz.
mantic triple all day. Mcleod will not last in my experience and drives far worse with more chatter and less engagement.
if it were me I'd do a smaller ci motor like a 376ci
if you're replacing all the pulleys anyway there is very little reason to not just to the 10 rib while you have it all apart. much stronger setup than 8 rib. you'll be happy you did it later.

I had my stock heads worked by ahp stage 4 so I have the valves they put in and I already have springs that came with my lg blower cam. He told me to pull that stuff off once it new and send to him at lme and put it into set of brodix heads.
I talked to aa corvette and worth the 10% overdrive of the 8 rib and my current pulley the supercharge v3ti is maxed out. I never slipped on the 6 rib so I figured 8 rib would be more than enough.
Still up in air if I want go to 1000+ as many y'all say it begins to not be streetable

Good deal then. If it is just a ti 8 rib is 100% fine. When I see LME 6 bolt crazy build, was expecting a bigger power setup.

I don't want to have to do this again so I'm going a bit overkill with the possibility of going Bigger one day. I'm hoping for 850-900 right now and when that gets old I'll do fuel system and ysi or TT
