TrackSpec C3 Corvette Heat extractor installed (Pics inside)
Trackspec developed hood vents for our cars. Dropped temps at idle by nearly 20 degrees on my 505". I ordered the long one, there is a shorter one available as well.

No. The company Trackspec manufactures their own. They have different designs for different cars. I have installed one on my C5 track car. Did have temp issues on track, but added a DeWitts radiator, external oil cooler and the Trackspec vent. Now oil temps never go over 285. There are a couple of C3 track cars that run with us and they both have these vents although they incorporate additional longer vents on both sides of the hood bulge.
OP, not sure if you have the optimum placement for that vent. For the C5, Trackspec provides specific measurements for proper installation. For optimal performance the vent is installed just behind the radiator. The principal is to take advantage of the low pressure area on that part of the hood to draw air out from behind the radiator. Trackspec doesn't sell a C3 specific kit so I guess they don't give you specific measurements.

How good of an idea is this when you happen to end up in a down poor?
Have any install pics?

Trackspec developed this vent on my car. It is C3 specific and will be on the website shortly, available in both shorter and longer versions.
There really isn't any other placement. It is just behind the radiator and has been working great.

Le Mans Master
Pro: Sound concept. No doubt that it would increase cooling while reducing/eliminating nose lift at speed.
Con: This setup would interfere with the L88 CAI air box.
Thanks for sharing.

There is a shorter one that is available that should fit the CAI box. I am not running it, so I went with the long one.

The hood scoop looks great, but let me ask you, What size are those rear tires ? Are those stock 15 x 8 wheels ? Love the way they fit, beautiful.

A person could make ductwork on the bottom side of the vent that aimed down towards the back of the radiator and would also direct the water from rain to drain in between the engine and radiator. It would also have to have electric fans on the radiator to give an area that water could drain down though and not affect anything critical.

For c3
i understand the need to vent heat. Does it have a cold air effect on the intake under throttle?
the vent on the red vette pictured, is that rhe long or short version?
