Default Removing my front mag shocks?

Is there a special tool I need. Tried to remove the top nut but can't stop the stud from turning at the same time. How do I get the top nut off??
Holding the outer shell of the shock doesn't work. Thanks guys!

The whole shock needs to be held in place while you unscrew the top nut, a strap wrench is the best tool. Here's a video guide:

You may end up having to get a tool on the shaft/piston that is under the dust cover, that is over the upper part of the shaft/piston, to prevent it from turning.
I'll try that maybe from above I can stop the stud turning
