It obviously depends on age, area, multiple policy discounts, etc., but the Z06 will cost more than a base C7 if not for the higher cost alone, but not as much as you would think. At least the difference wasn't that much from my carrier.

Z06 is about 1/3 the price of every gtr I ever quoted. My ins is about $1400 a year. Same as 09 911 turbo.

I have safeco home and auto. For discounts. I also have claims. A big one too $45k 3 yrs ago.

I am 26, will be 27 (in like a week and a half)
Perfect Driving Record (3 Speed Tickets ---> Parking Tickets)
No At-Fault Accidents (I've been in like 3 accidents tho because of idiots....wtf?)

Full Coverage for just my '13 Limited Subaru BRZ was $120ish a month.

Full Coverage for BOTH my BRZ and '17 Z06 Corvette went up $220ish a month.

However, what happened was - My Corvette takes up around $750 and the BRZ takes up around $550 every 6 months. So clearly the Z06 will definitely increase your insurance, but having multiple cars makes it seem not too bad.

Provider: USAA - However, I do have a small discount because they also provide my Home Owners Ins.

No other types of extra coverage (GAP, Total Loss, Debt Ins either)

This is why I don't have USAA. They don't give discounts for paying in full or two pay option. I save around 10-15% for doing the two pay option same as paying all at once. USAA rates are almost identical to safeco or liberty mutual.

Anyone that has speeding tickets needs rethink defensive driving or probabtion to keep that crap off your record.

Ive also got 500k combined single limit policy with a umbrella policy to a million. Mine would likely be 1000-1100 a year with 100/300

Being in your 40s has some advantages, like insurance rates. I've got Safeco for auto and home - '16 Z06 insurance went up on my renewal this month to $681/year. For reference, my '08 C6 coupe is $580/year and my wife's Mini Cooper S (2011) is $561. So the Z06 is a bargain considering the car/HP/TQ and cost.

That's interesting I get a solid discount for having automatic payment plan and the speed tickets were reduced to Illegal parking tickets; so we are all good there.

I use USAA despite a little higher premium for a few reasons; best customer service, when I get in accidents they take good care of me and in the past; my brother total'd a car worth $3000 and they give him $5000. I know it's not much but the fact that they gave him 2k more was pretty awesome.

Default Ins. less than S550 Mercedes

The 2017 Z06 is slightly less than my 2016 S550. I have been with USAA for 40 plus years, and in December receive a check back, this year $600.00 and in February a check back for $1,000.00 which reduces the cost. In addition both my wife and I take the boring, horrible, out of date driver trainings course online and the drug and alcohol course which reduces the ins. by 15%. No doubt there are cheaper ins. policies from other companies. If you have any assets you should have an Umbrella policy to increase your coverage.

Yes but when it comes to finance very few people are capable of comparing apples to apples. To understand you'd have to post you insurance policy. Which I don't care to dig into. My point is we are only getting half the story. Maybe you have 7 houses at 67 cars. The. Your $1600 a year back would seem like a .05% rebate.

You can insure a Z with Hagerty for next to nothing if the following are approximately true:

- You have another car that you commute in
- You don't daily drive it (ie: its truly a special day car)
- You don't have teen drivers in the house (some states, like WA)

Might require that you already have a Hagerty classic car insured, I don't know.

Then they treat it like a classic car and write it at those rates and it's very nice. However in some states, like WA, you MUST insure all drivers in the household so they won't write this kind of policy if you have teen drivers in the household, because they're too expensive to insure on a Z.

The USAA checks are from the Subscriber Savings Account. They have to have so much money in those accounts to cover losses. When the amount exceeds a certain value they send you a check. I only have my home owners with USAA. I started with them when I was in the Army and they were the only company that provided a household goods policy for people staying in Government Quarters. That was in 1967. I started with State Farm Auto Insurance the year before. At the time USAA couldn't compete with State Farm on auto rates so I stayed with them for car insurance. At this time USAA covers my house and State Farm covers the cars 51 years with State Farm and 50 years with USAA. I looked at consolidating several times but it always cost me more to consolidate.

When I moved to Charlotte I looked at consolidating with USAA but they wouldn't insure my C6Z because I used it on the track. If they know you use your car on the track it is their policy not to provide coverage.

Both companies are A+ when it comes to service. I have never had an issue with either of them despite several auto and house claims. Both helped us through some problems because they had been through a specific scenario before and we hadn't.

I don't mind telling that $3,000 annual, paid montly payment on American Express, no up charge by USAA or Amex. 2012 GL550, 2016 S550, 2017 Z06, 2017 ZL1. Max coverage on all.

yes but there's so many ways to manipulate insurance. Rental car coverage, deductibles, new car replacement, gap, Etc. plus driving records. If you put your 97 year old grandma with a perfect driving record driving 200 miles a year it's going to impact the numbers as well

I know the cost is about 50% more than a regular GS or stingray. I was surprised it's as much as it is and I have it through NCM. They told me they consider it an EXOTIC lol.

I'm in Ontario Canada, so this probably won't apply but when I traded my 2014 Stingray convertible for my 2015 Z06/Z07 my rate didn't change. Of course I'm 60ish. LOL.
