Default Has any one put on a bigger throttle body on there LT1?

Im thinking of putting on a bigger ported throttle body on my 17 GS. Just wondering has any one done this, and did you notice much of a difference? The K&N air filter charger kit I put on helped quite a bit. So I'm wondering if a bigger throttle body would help even more. Too big of the throttle body might hurt the bottem end and mid range tho.

I've got the WeaponX ported throttle body, which makes a huge difference. I know it's not exactly what you're asking about, but that was my fix.

I've also got a Halltech cold air intake....great combination.

Since you're already going to be digging in, an Edgyvette ported intake manifold would also be a great addition while retaining an OEM look.

Hi Ben
i have a 2017 Grand Sport, motor completely stock other then the K&N cold air induction kit. How much extra horse power will the Weapon X throttle body give the car?

I thought ported throttle body's improved throttle response but didn't add HP, at least not w/o a tune and combined with some other form of induction change like a CAI. Is 7 HP noticeable by itself ?

kind of a lot of money to spend on only an extra 7 to 10 hp . On the website it says 9 to 12 extra rear wheel horsepower is common.

Do you have to have the engine tuned for the weapon X throttle body?

You spend that on a cold air intake. You gain 35hp on headers. No you do not need a tune for a ported throttle body

I am having my Intake Manifold and TB Ported not expecting any crazy increase on numbers. My car is supercharged so I am more interested in trying to increase airflow in as well as out.

Thanks for the info. I don't plan to do anything until the warranty is gone. After that who knows.
