Default Tire & Wheel insurance

Well I picked up my AW M7 Z today and what an incredible car ! When I was with the finance manager he tried selling me the tire and wheel protection package. Told me what a great deal it was and with the "troubles" with the Z's wheels it'll probably pay for itself many times over especially since the cost of a new rim is suppose to be over $1,000 and the tire in excess of $600. Just wondering what the general consensus is here and for those that got it what did you pay? If it's not allowed to post here can you PM me the price.

Thanks

Here's a quick pic of the car just before I drove her home

In the 45 years I have owned Corvettes I have only had to replace one wheel due to damage (it was bent in the hub area and had some lateral run out, I replaced it by purchasing a stock wheel from The House of Wheels (for 35% of GM dealer cost). I have never had to replace a tire due to damage. I have had flats but they have all been repairable if the tire was worth repairing.

Just replaced under tire/wheel insurance a Super Sports that could not be repaired (nail on tire's edge). Embarrassingly, I didn't even know I purchased insurance when I bought the car. Saved me $563. Have the same insurance on my CTS-V and have replaced tires 2x under it.

Depends where you live. In the North East with the lousy roads we have you would be foolish not to get it.

I've used it many times. Probably because I have always driven them daily. Sorry I can't recall what I paid for them, but was very happy to have the coverage. I haven't had to replace wheels, just tires, but as he said it's paid for itself many times over.
