C5 Muffler Delete?
I have a 98' specs so far, black wing cai, magnaflow performance dual catback exhaust, Michelin pilot super sports. I'd like my vette to be LOUD, the magnaflow is like a mild tone when you get on it. Not as aggressive as I want it to be. Would you guys recommend me just delete the mufflers and have a shop weld a straight pipe and keep my tips? Thanks! (:

I tried the no muffler and didn't think it was that loud but the drone inside was so bad I couldn't take it. I love loud cars and there are better options for a lot of sound without being deafened by drone.

I don't have a ton of money to dish out on different things. Trying to get a nice cheap mean sounding vette hahah. I've had mines for 8 months and need more sound from him. Do you know much about the length the pipes or tips should be and what all difference it makes?

Just unbolt the axleback portion and remove it. Let your inner red neck out!!

No, most of the cars I run into that sound like that are just slow cars that make alot of noise, reminds me of the jacked up pickups with the huge pipes that can't get out of the way

I'm pleased with my Borla stingers and X pipe but I would recommend Billy Boat Bullets if you want loud and aggressive.
I had exhaust cutouts on my stock H pipe. It honestly didn't sound that good. More like a motor boat or old pick up truck exhaust. I think straight pipes would be close to the same thing.

I wouldn't do it, most likely it will sound like trash... I drove mine for a very brief period with turndowns right after my x-pipe when I needed to have my over axle pipes modified and it was way too loud and the drone was bad enough to give you a headache... it did have a nasty idle though, that part I did like but I still would not recommend it

I would not do it to my car. Consider either the B&B Bullets or Corsa Extremes for a loud sound. But before you do that, go to some car events and see if anyone has either of those sets on their car - and then see if they will let you listen to it, either right there or take you for a ride.

I did muffler bypass on stock exhaust setup. Cost 100.00.
Here is the clip. I need to make one with it reving up. When I drive it and floor it sounds like a deamon from hell trying to get out. But I also open up the stock ait filter housing.

Oh I have no drone. It is my daily driver and we have taken trips to Houston. I can talk to passengers without issues and also hear the radio excellent. This was the best mod for 100.00 I paid and no corvette tax for 1200.00 exhaust just for sound.

Get some long tube and straight pipes or super aggressive mufflers.
MAKE IT RUMBLE
Heck I'd put a boom tube if I could.

So going for loud.. don't cut off mufflers. Buy bullets and either xpipe or straight pipe? How much would that run me and what would be louder between the two pipes? I'm not familiar with a boom tube either lol. My car has 130k miles, and I dd him. Is it fine to put In a cam also? Or would that cause issues due to high mileage. Thanks a lot for the support and info guys!

And also regarding the long tube headers, is that fine to add to the car even though he has 130k miles? And I do plan on going to more events this year. I live in central Ohio. I was looking at the vengeance racing camshaft to get. Is that a good one and is the cam shaft just that stick part or more parts because I thought a cam would cost more then about $250 for the vengeance cam. Am I mistaken? Hahah thanks guys

Don't unbolt your exhaust after the h pipe. The drone is horrible. That huge hatch just amplifies it. It was louder @2k rpms than anywhere else. I did that after swapping an ls6 into my 97 coupe, before straightening out my exhaust. After bending some pipe to make an "axle back", its no where near as loud as before. I DD mine almost 100 miles a day. I don't have any issues with hearing the radio, passengers, talking on the phone, etc. Would I prefer mufflers..... yes but not the price they are asking.
Side note... be mindful in parking lots, People tend to assume if your car is loud your're speeding.

No mufflers, no resonators, test cats, obx x-pipe, obx lt headers.
I didn't have a bad drone, but now with carpet gone, it has a drone, but mine isn't a daily and slowing making a drag car out of it
