Anyone traded their C7 Z06 for a C7 GS?

Yes. Not me, but one of our club members did. He said that based on how he used the car (never tracked it or took it to the drag strip) it made no financial sense to pay the extra insurance costs, operating costs, etc. involved with a Z so he traded it on a GS. For him owning the Z over the GS only gave him bragging rights about horse power and after a year it was no longer worth it to him.
I didn't have the money for a Z so it made my decision to opt for the GS that much simpler.

Yep. I traded my '16, 1LZ, M7, Z06 coupe with 4,200 mile on it for a (new) '17, 2LT, A8 convertible. It cost me $2K to make the change. Because I'm a "cruiser" and not a "track rat," I never felt the need and never used the extra 190 hp. The way I look at it, the LT4 is a $15k option I'd never use.

Nice GS. I originally went to dealer last year to purchase a Z06 Coupe they had marked down over 20%. But they also had a Fresh off the truck GS 2LT Convertible. They gave me 9% off the GS so that made it just about the same price as the Z06 2LT. Ultimately I decided that I would use the Convertible top more than I would use the extra 200HP ... so I went with the GS ...

LMAO I'm in the same boat and my wife is going to kill me if I don't stick with the same car for more than 6 months.. Z06 vs GS ? ...Sigh.... I'll never use the horsepower, its 15K more than the GS.... but thinking this will be my last new toy car purchase, will I be disappointed not getting the Z ? Why put money away for retirement ? After all the little guy from N Korea is looking to blow us up anyways... tough choices

I could have bought a 2016 Z06 for the same price I paid for my 2017 GS and I went with the GS on a factory order. When wife and I were at Spring Mountain in December all the instructors I spoke with agreed that I made the right choice. After owning my GS for almost 8 months I have not ever felt I was lacking in power and sure feel confident in the handling of my car. I really don't miss the extra power.

If you're 100% sure you won't miss the torque of the LT4 (not just the hp) then the GS is a safe bet. But if you're "unsure", that means you want it.

I think the GS is great, but if you're having trouble sticking with the same car, get the "best" and you'll be less tempted to switch. Maybe that's a 3LZ A8 Z06 Vert? To each their own.
