C4 B&B vs Corsa (Which is louder)
On a stock C4 with B&B vs Corsa which one is louder? I've watched videos of both and while the B&B has a deeper tone much like a bass guitar. The Corsas seem to wail. I've only heard B&B's on C4's in real life but have yet to hear any Corsas. Anybody got any insight on which one takes the trophy for the loudest exhaust. And I understand B&B has changed the exhaust numerous times because of resonance issues.

Corsa is louder at high rpm, b&b at low rpm. The b&b's loudness curve isn't linear...the volume falls off in the high rpm range if that makes sense.
The Corsa has no resonance.

B&B is deeper and louder at idle and cruise. In most driving this will be the louder exhaust system. It has a rep for resonance.
Corsa doesn't resonate like that, and is more livable around town.

I would say a Corsa equipped car at 6k rpm would be just as loud, my LT4 sounded awesome with Corsa...add long tube headers, no cats and it will be LOUD. Go find a video of a ZR1 on a dyno with Corsa.

with vader86 I have both ... and the LT1 sounds way nicer than my LS1 with the Z06 titanium exhaust.
You can make the C4 as loud as you want but it makes it tough in the cabin if you enjoy driving long distances. I have long tube headers and a stock catback exhaust on my 95 and it sounds better (to me) than either of the aftermarket units you mentioned.
I could have bought either one but passed them up for the headers and very happy over the long run that I did.

I lived with a B&B on my '94 for a long time, and hated it. The drone was truly unbearable cruising below around 2400 RPM. Sixth gear was useless. I finally yanked it in favor of a Corsa. It is MUCH better at cruise, has a very nice rumble at idle, and roars like a lion at WOT. Best of all, ZERO drone.
Live well,

If I could do it all over again I would go this route. In fact I'll be putting a factory catback back on.

I have long tube headers ,no cats and full B&B 3" with x pipe on my 421ci
Zr-1. Loud as hell and rumbles like an animal. LOVE IT!!!
Definitely louder (and more drone) than corsa. You could add a resonator to help with the drone if you want. Depends on what you want. I love my exhaust sound.

For what it’s worth this is a video comparing the stock exhaust on my 1990 ZR-1. 30k miles, completely stock except Haibeck tune.
You said you listened to some on the web but when shopping around I noticed most of the videos were relatively old. This is from a week ago. Filmed on an iPhone 6s.
Love the sound at WOT, definitely loud, quiet with a nice rumble at idle and cruise. Have heard B&B and the rumble is really nice down low, loud rumble but at cruise it definitely drones (IMO). Just depends on where you want your sound to be. I personally am thrilled with my corsa system.
That said I’ve got magnaflow mufflers with LT1 tips on my 92 LT1, and it’s really deep, love it but it drones at 55mph. Gone at 65, but 55 is a pretty standard cruising speed here in Indy. Not what you asked but mentioning it anyway.

..... I had long tube headers , an X-pipe , 18" bullet mufflers with 3" mandrel B&B pipes and B&B mufflers ... the resonance was SOOO bad that with the car idling in the driveway with the attached garage door open , my kitchen cabinet doors were vibrating and making all kinds of weird noises ... my house was droning ! ... the B&B mufflers were off the car in 3 days ... replaced them with Flowmaster 50 series and couldn't be happier .....

I've owned or ridden in a c4 with every type of major brand exhaust or type.
Corsa, Power Effects, Borla, Flowmaster, B&B, muffler elims, Magnaflow, Monza.
All except the Corsa resonate on some level...some worse than others.
Corsa is the only way I know to get an OEM quiet cruise and loud WOT.
I have not experienced the new B&B or any of the modern mufflers with sound control valves/flaps.

My Flowmasters, 40's?.. get lots of unsolicited comments about volume. I bought them afore I knew there were different models.
Despite (heavy) dynamat-type layers, I was forced to install a killer stereo to hear non-exhaust tunes!

Louder? B&B hands down.
Unless you go around all day at 6k RPM then Corsa, and I’m not confusing Loud with Resonance. I have had both systems and still do but I’m presently pulling the Corsas off my 94 (with EM headers) and going back to a B&B 3” system. My 87 had Borlas then the B&Bs and something about the B&Bs I love...maybe it’s the resonance? Lol With the Corsas at some RPM it’s almost whisper quiet and not in a good way IMHO, I guess that’s the resonance tradeoff. I had coworker walk-in and say “that single pipe exhaust is cheesy”. I guess he referring to the carbon buildup I get only on one tip of the Corsas, BUT that’s what helps with the resonance as well. At high RPM the Corsas do sound borderline European. Some love that Euro sound, while the Neanderthal types such as myself go B&B.
Anyways, I have other “quiet” cars, I just don’t like my Corvettes needing WOT to be heard. Here’s my 3” B&Bs that will go back onto the 94 in a few weeks.

Im onto exhaust catback number 3 and finally done and happy. I replaced my factory cat back with a Borla I found on Craigslist first. My 88 has no pre-cats and a magnaflow high flow main cat. The car droned so bad thought my ears were going to bleed after 10 mins of drive time. I sold the Borla and went with Walker Quietflows. I liked them alot. However, I felt they were too quiet for my tastes. I found the Corsa system on sale for $950 at one of the Vendors and ordered it. The install was straightforward and easy. It sounds incredible especially at WOT. If you are looking for loud all the time, then this isnt for you. To me its the best of both worlds quiet during normal driving and loud during aggressive driving and absolutely no ear bleeding drone. Its well worth the money. My 2 cents..
