Default i think i got mold poisoning from AC vents

noticed this urine type of smell after turning the ac on for 10 seconds then it goes away. I feel like its because i put it to recirculate mode all the time in the humid weather. if i put it to outside air from now on will it go away? i got shivers, some night sweats and upset stomach. the system is not clogged since i see the water under the car once it is turned of but i believe the recirculate option caused this

put your windows down, remove the cabin filter. turn the fan on high and spray a bunch of lysol disinfectant in the cabin air intake. I have done this before to remove smells from the A/C.

Good place to start. There is also a spray that can be used to disinfect the evaporator coil and box available from NAPA. You drill a small home in the evaporator box and spray the entire can into the box. Another thing to check is the drain from the evaporator box to let the condensation drain out of the box. The C-5's were real bad on plugged drains. If the drain is stopped up it can cause a smell and mold situation.

The product for cleaning the evaporator box is Kool-it. Go to their website for a full explanation of how it works.

Whether or not it works, but this is the reason I always shut off the air conditioning a couple miles prior to shutting off the car.

Could be. I haven't driven my vette for about 4 weeks. Got in and man the smell from ac vents stunk. I opened windows for a while, went away. My weather here is real dry though, about 7% humidity. Man I love this weather here compared to Miss. and Louisiana. Tried to get here when I was 16, finally made it at 60!!

Well, he won't really be able to prove if all those symptoms were related to the car. I get all those symptoms when I find out my wife's family is planning an extended visit. (Lawsuit is not an option in my case)

Yup, gotta love the weather in California ... But I am betting you don't much love the high taxes there. I am thinking you don't much love the requirement for a front license plate either.

Change your cabin filter, get some vent cleaner in there and go see a Dr.
May be something else you dont want to put off.

I like to turn off the a/c compressor and run the fan only for 30 seconds or so to dry out the condenser before I pull in the garage and shut off the engine.

That is fiction my friend. There is a $0 a year diff. living here VS Miss. After the next tax year, I will know the exact amount. I have a feeling it will be cheaper to live here.My license plate there was $900 a year for 2014 Tundra, here $390, my 13 Camry, there 400, here $190. Home insurance there, $158 a month, here $58, included earthquakes too. The electricity there in summer was $200. here $100, since I use a swamp cooler, keeps house 78 during day and at night 75 cool and cheap. Now, if you made a lot of money, your retirement tax is higher, I don't have a lot, enough for a vette and sportbikes, ha ha ha. The state income tax for my wife is about 7% higher, so it's even smeven. Does not cost me a penny more I can ride my vette, my sportbike 320 days a year with blue skies. My weekly ribeye cost $4.50lb here, $9.99 there. The fruit here is 100 times tastier, doesn't have to be picked a month before ripening so they can ship it to other areas . I can go on and on. Do research and you will see. CA enforces the car insurance from every angle, in Miss. they didn't. Was terrifying to be tailgated by some half toothed moron that knew if he hit me, had nothing to worry about and I would have to pay deductible and he had nothing to lose because he owned nothing but a piece of crap truck or car. That went on all the time. Yes it's hotter, but at 103, I feel 10 times better outside at 7% humidity than I did 70 degrees at 90% humidity. Those are the facts, I don't pay a dime more to live here. I'm so far away from earthquakes, no land slides, wildfires. I researched 3 years on all that before I chose this city. My house costed exactly the same here as there. Most average size homes 1200 to 1500 sq, feet are about $80k to 120k. Homes built in 2007, yards 1/3 acre. You can check all the facts out if you like. I live 1-1/2 hours from Los Angeles, can go there anytime
Now the traffic in LA is horrible, but not so several times a day. Gasoline is $2.59, so that's higher here too. Huuuuh phew, that was lung full. Sorry for the change and I know it's far from the OP subject, but you brought it up LOL
