Insurance....Again
My 2016 Z51 just went up again. $596. for 6 months with USAA. Getting tired of this. Are you getting better quotes from other Ins companies?

I've got a multi-car policy with State Farm along with home insurance. My rates for my 2014 (full coverage) is the same as my 2007 Acura TL Type S.....$326 per 6 months.

$475 per 6 mos in Lake Havasu, AZ. Full coverage, but there are so many variables involved, I'll bet none of us have the same identical coverage. Let alone where we are located.

Under 50 in los angeles with a spotless driving record and it's $1,200 a year for me. Yours works out to $852 per year. Deductibles and coverage level also vary the annual costs. I insure 3 cars so multiply accordingly.
I quote all the carriers every year and that's the best I can get.

Weird, I pay $276 for six months at USAA for my 2LT Stingray. What is crazy is that I pay $311 for my BMW 135is. Stingray must be very safe because my little BMW weighs 3370lbs and is a tank.
I am 52, no wrecks since 1995. I have been with USAA since 1996. I keep my deductible at $1k. If I have a problem for less than that, I’d pay out of pocket instead of use insurance.

Z51's seem to be higher for whatever reason the Ins. companies can make up. But, check your deductible. You may be able to save by increasing that. I'm with State Farm, and strangely my wife's '13 Mustang GT is higher than my '16 base Vette.

Rates vary tremendously depending on a number of factors including location, driving record, discounts and number of cars insured. I've been with USAA for over 40 years and have very, very high liability levels. With 3 cars and 2 drivers I am paying $425 every 6 months for the Corvette. I do get about $1000 rebate each year from USAA so when I factor this in I have not found anyone cheaper. I also have had very, very good customer service from USAA over the years and have an umbrella, personal property and homeowner's policy with them as well.

No way to tell without really comparing coverages, but mine is $525 for 6 months in Texas with Farmers.
As far as rate increases, all insurance companies are facing higher costs due to increased number of weather related damage and also higher accident rates from distraction by electronic devices.

I have been a member of USAA for thirty years now and pay about $1300.00 per year for "full" coverage on my 2017 Stingray 2LT and my 2015 Nissan Altima 2.5 S sedan.
I save money by having my deductible set at $500 rather than $250 and by getting a multi-car discount (only one driver and two cars). The Corvette is a "part-time" or pleasure use vehicle, so that probably saves me a few ducats.
I often run into people from other insurance companies who claim that they can "save me money" on my car insurance. When they ask who my carrier is and I mention USAA, they give me that blank stare and mutter obscenities under their breath.

Wow, I wish I had any of the rates posted so far. My Z51 2014 vert is $2K a year on LI New York. Just over 50, perfect record, three cars insured and Vette is never driven to work. I'm getting hosed.

I have been with USAA for 30 or 40 years and am so pleased with their service and response that I do not even shop other companies any more. I have had unsolicited sales calls before that asked who I was with and when I told them USAA, the reply was thank you and a hang up.
When I bought my 2016, I checked insurance costs with USAA and the quotes were about 50% higher for the Z51 over the base IIRC which helped me decide against the Z51 which I really didn't need but kind of wanted. That said, my cost here in southwestern Virginia is $381 semi-annual premium for $300K/$500K coverage with $1,000 collision deductible and $500 other than collision deductible and 9,000 declared annual mileage estimate. I do insure three vehicles and my house with USAA and get discounts for multi-car and premium driver on the Vette (plus some lesser ones) and get around $400 average rebate on a total premium of $2,700 per year.
Based on my experience and not knowing your deductible levels (it makes a BIG difference in premium) your six month does not seem way out for USAA and I doubt you will find a company easier to deal with. I have had many claims over the years (home and auto) and never an issue with settlement!
