Gauging Interest in 96 GS with 6,7xx miles
SOLD $27k
1996 GS coupe.
1G1YY2257T5600451
Currently 6,7xx miles.
Car has a clean Carfax.
One owner car.
It's a black guts, coupe, Z51 suspension, CD player, with power seats.
Asking $30k
EDIT: See post 24 for real photos.
Walk around video...
The car sat for a long time without being started. Entire fuel system was cleaned and pump was replaced. Car runs and purrs great. No leaking or any issues have been found. Only other negative is that years ago it had paint damage on the front left and the front bumper and hood was resprayed. As of this writing the pin stripes between the white and blue aren't on the car on the hood and front bumper. Full stripe kit is included. It has the original tires which have flat spots but are not flat.
Best,
Gene

Here's the situation.
My father had a stroke and is in financial disarray. I have power of attorney from him. We would prefer not to sell it but very likely will have to. We both have a lot of emotional attachments to this car. I haven't listed it officially because he lost the title and I'm waiting to get a new one from the state. I figured if we do sell it it will be in one of two ways.
1. As is with the front stripes off and flat spotted tires.
2. New tires and stripes applied...for more money of course.
At this point my thinking is it's not worth the time and bother to deal with the stripes and tires for the little extra money those changes will command. This of course may change.
I will sometime soon take better images of it. Let me know if there are any specific shots you would like to see.
All the best,
Gene

I agree the application of stripes plus tires aren't worth the time and money. A buyer could have these items installed. The inclusion of the stripe kit is a major plus.
The re sprayed hood, front, and fender does have me slightly concerned and curious on the quality of the paint job and the paint used. I'm nearly positive that GM was still using Sikkens paint on Corvettes and Cadillacs in 1996. Any good pics showing the shine of those areas would be most helpful

Gauging interest in this 1996 GS.

Currently 6,7xx miles.
Car has a clean Carfax.
It's a black guts, coupe, Z51 suspension, CD player, with power seats.
Looking for something in the very low 30s.
The car sat for a long time without being started. Entire fuel system was cleaned and pump was replaced. Car runs and purrs great. No leaking or any issues have been found. Car isn't for sale yet but will likely be in the next month or so.

Gene

Im very sorry to hear about your fathers stroke. I hope that his health and financial situation improves and if selling the GS will assist in that then its the right thing to do.
Guys, Gene has been around for on this forum forever and and is a good guy. To SR71.... You would not have to worry about any of the concerns that you had in your recent post about buying a GS if you deal with Gene.
The best place to get an OEM quality stripe kit as i understand it is phoenix graphics. It is a GM licensed kit and runs about $370. Unfortunately you have to buy the stripes for the whole car.
Good luck to all
Mike

Thank you very much for the kind words. I guess spending years of my life on this forum has its benefits.
Best,
Gene
p.s. The car would come with one complete phoenix graphics stripe kit and one non complete kit.
