Fans won't turn off???
Today I was driving and the outside temp was 70 degrees...More importantly the coolant was 180 degrees and oil was 179 degrees...
Then I looked at my instrument panel(tour mode)at some point and the coolant said 0 degrees!
I pulled into a convenient store, cut the engine off and the fan was running full force and would not stop...After 15 minutes or so I figured the battery would eventually run down, so I opened the trunk and disconnected the positive pole...After 30 seconds, I reconnected it and presto, fan was off and car started and performed as normal...Drove another 60 miles or so and all is still good...
Why or has anybody else experienced this?

Did you have a low temperature thermostat installed? If not your thermostat has probably failed open and the engine failed to come up to normal operating temperature in the expected period of time so the ECM assumes there could be a temperature sensor fault and turns the fan on high and sets the engine temperature display to zero to indicate a possible sensor error.

You should always disconnect negative first.

Ive had the mods and tune for about 3000 miles...Next time I'm there I will definitely mention it...You say simple fix, what needs to be done in your opinion? Thank you for all your responses...

Any difference if you turn HVAC off completely? It's a long shot, but problems with the air conditioner can cause the fans to run full blast.
More likely the tune if that was recently changed, just throwing it out there.

of course as onfire said, your thermostat could have just failed.

The key here is if your coolant temp gauge actually reads 0 degrees as you stated.
If it does then the coolant temperature sensor has failed low or been disconnected. If that is the case the safety default for the fans is on. I think around 47% speed.
Ensure you are getting a correct temp reading from the sensor before you go chasing something in the tune.
