Last year it was December/January for remaining 2016's on dealer lots. Chevy gave the dealers a certain number of bonus tags at 10% the dealers could place on any car they wanted and combine that with their own discounts, so you saw a number of 20% plus discounts on selected cars (but maybe not the one you wanted.) But this year is a whole nother ballgame because of the plant shutdown. It would be unwise to expect that exact circumstances to happen again. Plus you have to bounce the discount you want off the car you desire. If you have a long list of non-negotiable requirements, then basically the price goes up. If you're willing to be flexible on features, including color, the chances you can find a car at a good discount are far greater. Overall it's probably a better strategy to stop focusing on the discount and be content with the discounts normally offered by forum dealers. If your local dealer has a car you can live with, look up the forum dealers and find the equivalent car, figure in the cost of transport, and give the local dealer a chance to match it. Some will; some aren't interested. If they aren't interested, buy from the forum dealer. There will ALWAYS be someone who gets a "better deal" than you, but if that's your only goal, you'll never buy the car.

Thanks last month they were going for 15% off here in North Florida discounts ended at the end of the month I couldn't take advantage because I was moving across the country, just like to get back to 15% off any suggestions and I'd like to buy from a local dealer because I'm gonna have it serviced at the local dealer. Looking at base manual transmission car or if it has a Z 51 option 1LT that's fine too nothing special and color white black blue

The longer you wait the tougher it will be to find the car you want, especially if it's going to have a manual transmission. These cars are much too fun to just sit around waiting for a better deal than what you can get NOW.

I can get about 12% off here locally and there's about four on the 2 Bette dealers within 25 miles that will work for me so am I just going to give it a try if that's a good deal?

I got my 20% off last September 15th. 10% bonus tag and 10% dealer discount. Again the plant shutdown could effect that but there seems to be plenty of inventory around.
At this point I think waiting 2 more months will pay off. Just start doing a wide search for what you want and start watching a few cars in inventory. I don't believe you will see anymore 2017 inventory inbound.

12% is not bad at all, especially if you have a selection. Sure, there are greater discounts around, but "local" is worth something, too, including no truck transport or travel costs. Yeah, somebody will be telling us about their 25% off deal, but the fact is those only happen when the stars are aligned perfectly and half the time someone is jerking your chain.

To me, getting what's going to sastify long term is more important than an extra few thousand $ in discount.

I was able to get 15.6% off after some negotiation. I agree with the other comments that waiting for the deepest discounts will limit your ability to find what you want.

Help yourself. Make your laundry list of options, then go to cars.com and search
For example, as of July 23, there were 8,968 new 2017 corvettes advertised.
https://www.cars.com/for-sale/search...31936&zc=33312
Now add the options filters, for example, manuel transmission, now your are down to 1,527:
https://www.cars.com/for-sale/search...31936&zc=33312
And the winner is: $47,896 on a $56,980 car.
Find the one you want and work that dealer. Good Hunting!

Just noticed you're in Hawaii. Yikes! If you can get 12% in Hawaii I think that would be dandy. It's not as if you are in New Hampshire and hitchhike down to MacMulkin. There isn't any real comparison to CONUS discounts.

Between Kerbeck, Criswell and MacMulkin you probably have close to 1000 cars to choose from. Give it a shot and then start negotiating.
