need exhaust back pressure
I need a way to create some backpressure so egr will work. I do not want to put mufflers on it. This is needed to drop my nox for smog.

What kind of tips do you have on the exhaust system now. That's where i would start.
An EGR valve from a 6-speed car can help that issue too.

Kimmer,
Send me the I.D. of your pipes. I will plasma cut some stock into a round that will go inside the pipe with a 1" hole in the center and a tab that you can run a small bolt thru to bolt to the pipe. I had to do this with my 95 to get some back pressure.

Put 2 small screws in diaphram of egr valve
put two small screws in egr diaphram. I'll post pics when I have time of what I'm talking about. I assure you, your egr light will turn off

I don't think that the issue is turning off the EGR light, but getting enough back pressure to get the EGR to function and reduce NOX to passing levels. Upping the back pressure will do that. I tried to put a half sleeve under the center shaft on the EGR to hold it partially open all the time and the car ran like S**T and almost died. The EGR opens and closes many many times per minute to draw the exhaust gasses back into the cylinders to "cool" the chamber and reduce NOX emissions.

Yes, the NOX will drop if you open it manually. Just have to sneak around the SMOG tech and lift the diaphragm. Wish it was that easy. The exhaust restrictions will help with that. Did mine. Let me know. Send a PM if you want.
