Default Parking in Savannah

Taking our first road trip to Savannah. Staying in the Historic District. Anyone have any history on Vette friendly parking locations?

Whitaker Street Parking deck is underground or any above ground parking deck near Broughton will get you close. Wouldn't park on the street anywhere in Savannah. Also advise against taking a vette down to River Street as the road is made of cobble stone and would be rough on the car, especiallyif it's lowered. My vert was lowered and had no problem, however my Z is even lower and will not be going down there. Take it easy and be alert and you should be solid.

Hotel parking is usually pretty good.
There's no free parking in the town.
Fun place though

Was there a couple of years ago (not with the Vette) and stayed in a hotel in downtown, they offered parking in their lot, the spots were big and they had plenty of them. A little expensive, IIRC maybe $20-$25 a day but you can pretty much walk or take public transportation anywhere you want to go so I went for it and it worked out well for me...have a good time!

No issue with ground clearance at the Whitaker garage?

I never tried the one at Whitaker however I know the one next to the courthouse on Montgomery near Broughton was ok for my vert. It's a little further walk to City Market and River St but its secure and only touched the front rubber air deflector slightly. That said, I can't imagine Whitaker would be a problem since is a fairly new design and build (about 5 years old).

I take my C6 there every year. There are two underground garages, plenty of parking. This time of year it's a bit slower due to the rain and humidity. You should be just fine.

Last year, we stayed at a Hilton property, about where you are talking about, and I did the valet parking. I paid the guy well to park our car away from trouble and to take care of her. He made sure that he was the one to retrieve it, when we checked out.

Parking decks are the best bet,be careful if you have a Z06 or Grand sport with the low splitter there are some low drop offs and pot holes to look for.

Default parking in Savannah

Be extremely careful of the curbing. It is rough hewn Granite with lots of pointy surfaces. I blew out a like new Michelin backing and rubbing a curb. Great town, hit he rooftop bars at sunset.

We just got back from savanna in April in my vette, we had no issues if you hotel is in downtown just leave your car at the hotel and walk. I used the same garage Whitaker street and had no issues however mine was just a base model. What ever you do don't go on river street in your car between the brick road and rail road would kill a set of wheels. Also if you go over the bridge and take the first exit to left and go under the bride their is a 1/8 mile mark out on the pavement for a test hit if needed.
