Sold the '54 this weekend. Heavy heart...
Some of you know my wife is fighting the "C" word. Her outlook is very questionable right now. She's lost a lot of weight and has made it through month 26 after having been given 6 months at diagnosis, back in May 2015.
She loves her Corvettes, and this was her "baby." She asked that we downsize the fleet, so I asked John from GM Downunder to list it on his web site while I finished phase 2 of the restoration, a restoration process I started 11 years ago.
It was shipped to the new owners today, who I know will appreciate it every bit as much as we have. I told them nothing starts a conversation like explaining to people that yes, Corvettes really did have 6 cylinders in them, and no, they did not make any of the first ones out of sheet metal!
Thanks to Jim Lockwood and the rest who kept me pointed in the right direction on this.
Taken 10 minutes before it was loaded in the trailer to go to it's new home. So long, my friend. It's been a long, fun journey. Now I need to change my avatar again.

Best wishes to your wife, too many sad stories on here lately but I understand the downsizing, I sold my 61 and convinced myself I was OK with it but every once in a while I get a twinge of regret..

They're such beautiful cars, especially in blue. You were obviously a very good steward, and we each only get to have them temporarily.
But more importantly, I hope you're still having good days with your wife.

Firstly, I hope things go as well as possible for your wife; secondly, you've done an outstanding job w/the '54.... its a beautiful car. Unfortunately life has a habit of going on, whether we want it to or not, in a way we want it to or not. We're not really in control here; we're just along for the ride. Good luck to you, and hopefully you find peace.

There are plenty of old and cool cars out there but there is only 1 wife and she is more important then any car or cars. God be with you both and keep a smile on your face and LOVE in your HEART for her.

Randy, hope things improve for your wife. Have a family member diagnosed with terminal illness and given 2-3 months, that was a year ago and now in remission. Though in some cases the odds of successful treatment given are low, there are others who react well and do recover. Never give up hope.

Prayers for your wife and family through this trying time.
I would hope you 54 baby has found another good home....we are only caretakers for these cars for a time you know. Maybe the new owner will become a CF member so we can keep track of your rolling art piece and give them the support they need to keep it in good shape.

I wish you and your wife the best, my prayers are with you.
I lost my wife, of 52 years, very suddenly a little over three years ago, no warning at all.
Your time together and memories are priceless and you will always treasure them, on the other hand a car is only a thing you can replace at any given time.
