Default Heater core bypass

Hey all,
did some searching and can't find an answer. I did a heater core bypass and am wondering what to do with the "T" connector on the bottom of the overflow. Do I just cap it off? Will my radiator still be able to pull fluid from the overflow?

Got a pic of what the kit looks like. Cant remember off the top of my head how the lines run.

No pics right now, but there is a hose running from the metal heater core inlet line to the T on the bottom of the reservoir. Then another hose from the other side of the T to the water pump.

As long as the the lines run from the water pump to the t and back to the water pump you will still be using the reservoir.

that's what's confusing me because the bypass hose connects to the only two openings on the water pump.

So you have one hose that's connecting the inlet and outlet to the heater core?

No, I had two hoses. An inlet and outlet, but the bypass is a single hose that is looped from the inlet to the outlet on the water pump. The original inlet hose connected to the T on the reservoir. So basically after the bypass I have nothing to run to the reservoir except the overflow tube from the radiator.

With that set up it will catch the fluid that overflows once it gets hot and expands, but it will have no way to reintroduce that fluid once the system cools. If I am understanding your set up correctly

Isn't this type of bypass common on C5s? Surely someone else has done it.

I bypassed the heater core and used the "T" on the bottom of the reservoir tank.

I was able to use the hoses that where removed from the aluminum heater pipes.

Had to cut one down.

If you need me to take pictures let me know.

so you just ran the water pump inlet to one side of the T and the outlet to the other side and capped off the metal lines?

Yes, but I went one step further and removed the alu.pipes since I had the engine removed.
