Can you know if a non z51 has npp exhaust from photo
I was told this car has Npb exhaust but owner also says it's z51 but I know it isn't a z51 by the vin number. Can a npp exhaust or not be figured out by looking at the tail pipes. Does this car have npp.

Here is a shot of the base exhaust. Note the slightly bigger gap in the center compared to the gap between the other pipes.

I googled and I could not find a picture of non npp. I understand the trumpet tips for npp but don't know about the spacing aspect. Can someone post photo of non npp. Thanks for the replies.

In addition to the "gap" between the pipes, standard exhaust is much smaller and wimpy looking from the back of the car compared directly with the NPP tips. The car you're looking at definitely has NPP.

If you want a comparison picture, go to the Corvette build site and build a vette without the NPP. Then add it as an option. The pic will change and show you the difference,

Do you have any other pics of it? The car does have a full length spoiler. Does it have slotted rotors? Larger wheels? Some signs it may be a Z51. Why would they say it is if it isn't? Are they trying to pull one over on you?

I saw in the pics online Craigslist not slotted rotors. I asked for vin number and ran on vin decoder. No z51 but it is 1lt. Dealer listed as z51. He told me it is 2lt. Seems like he doesn't know much about these cars. 32,000 miles. I offered 41,000 when I thought it was z51. He said ok. I offered $39,000 when I found out the specs and he said no.

I would suggest trying to get a copy of the original invoice. Most of the Z51 specs can also be purchased separately and the upgraded exhaust is one of the more popular add ons. I never noticed the width difference in the tail pipes but will now search out a non Z51. Mine are also very close together and my invoice shows the full Z51 upgrade.

If you can get the VIN, that is the easiest foolproof way to know for certain if it is a Z51 or not. Second best would be to get a look at the RPO sticker, but it is not as easy to get to in the C7 (under the carpet in the rear hatch) as it was on the C6 (on the inside of the glove box).
See the VIN decoder threads in the Manuals, Reference Material, Online Order Guide, Order Tracking, etc. sticky thread, or use the VIN decoder tool under the Tools menu at the top of the forum.

The previous owner may have the base exhaust to begin with and later put on the GM performance exhaust from the axle back from a different car. If they did this, it will not function as a factory installed GM performance exhaust. Or the owner may have put a a different aftermarket exhaust that looks similar to the GM performance exhaust. If it was me, I would go see the car and start it up and go into the settings menu and confirm the exhaust is configurable and hear the difference for yourself. If you can get a build sheet for the car, it would be listed on it as well. Good luck.

Thanks for all the help. Seller said he can here the difference in the exhaust when changing settings. Bad news is the car is 1,250 miles away. It's in Alabama and I'm in New York. I'd prefer to wait for a z51 anyway.

John, much better to make a deal locally where you can confirm what you are getting IMHO. I waited almost a year until I found the right C7 with the right equipment at the right price and bought from a Chevy dealership that provided the original invoice. I found a repo with only 5k miles and made a great deal and it being a full Z51 was one of my requirements.

The seller text me photos last night. I stuck with my price. He told me it will be on eBay today. I just checked and it's listed. Laguna blue with 32,550 miles. Check it out. I feel I can eventually find a nice z51 for $43,000. Think he's is ok at $41,000
