Great news. Just updated Waze on my OneOlus 3T. It works much better in my C7 than the LG4 I had previously. Thanks for the info.

Got it working. If you call up Directions it defaults to Google Maps, so you have to force it to go to Waze. Right ow Android Auto has three basic functions:
A. Directions
-1. Google Maps or
-2. Waze
B. Contacts
-1. Pulls your phone's contact info
C. Media Apps
-1. Must install Android Media apps, which I have not done. Includes lots of listening, music, Skype, etc.
If you plug in things in the right order the "Projection" Button on the car screen turns to "Android Auto, so you push that to enter the app and it takes over the screen. Press "Home" on the car to get back to your normal screen.
Impressions: Looks like this stuff could take a lot of phone memory, so you better have a bunch before you get into this. It seems a little clunky to me, i.e.: Things aren't moving very fast. It may be the interface because it has to go from the car via the USB cable to your phone and come back the other way to display. You're going to have to spend some quality time getting familiar with how this works.

When you are in Adroid Auto the Navigation icon pictured below, will now have a drop down arrow next to it. Touch the drop down arrow and you will have two choices. Waze or Google maps. The second picture shows the navigation before the update.

Hmm. Not showing the arrow unless I'm already in the maps, then it does. Even invoked waze first. Back to te drawing board.

So if you are using Android auto there are media options to select for other things other than just navigation. Here is a link to all the apps that will work for you.

Generally. That's the overall section where you would invoke those apps once they're on your phone. Think of the menu as three buckets. One is for your maps. One is for your contacts, and the third is for your "other apps," kind of a catch all for 'everything else.'

I have a 2015 and use Android Auto on my phone only. Will Waze work with phone only Android Auto?
