Default 1989 C4 Value thread

All, I was wondering what the value of my Corvette is.
I bought my first corvette on a whim this summer. It's a 1989 C4 Dark Blue A4 coupe with the performance rear end and see through top. It was sitting in a barn for the last 3 years. It had a bad battery, mice issues, very dusty, a broken antenna, a flat tire and had 34,500 miles on it. I knew it would have issues, but I took a chance. Here are the issues left to be fixed. Speaker amp(s) are bad, climate control is bad, antilock brake light is on and the 3rd brake light does not work. Tires are 50%. Paint is good, but there are a few scratches, it drives well and everything else seems fine in the car. Here's a picture, any idea what it's worth?
Thanks

Well are you planning on selling it or just deciding if you want to put any more money into it. The things you mention are not huge issues to resolve. The climate control can probably be fixed under 100 bucks or less. Radio will most likely be the biggest PITA but all relatively simpler fixes. My 2 cents

You said it, deciding if I want to sell (10%) or put more money into it (90% likely). I really like it and I am deciding if I should also try to keep the miles low or just drive the crap out of it if I do keep it. If I found a good price on an LT4, then I would sell.

Well obviously the choice is yours alone to make. It has low miles. Has the air of dependability and you've already sunk some money into her. However if she doesn't completely satisfy you then consider selling and buying exactly what you want while c4s are cheap. No sense in fixing a car you don't want to keep long term. Now you have 4 of my cents. Soon you'll be rich.

If youre 90% on it then spend another grand or two on it and drive it til the wheels fall off it.

The guy before you already did it probably not to his benefit either

LOL, so far just nests and smell that I have found. But, I have only had it a small amount of time. Nothing else has cropped up yet. Praying that those are the only 2 issues. I see in your avatar that you have a way to keep out mice. Usually I just use dryer sheets. LOL

Well,
So far I have drove my new to me corvette 2500 miles this summer and the only issues left to fix are:
1. Anti-lock service light is still on.
2. Speaker amps still need to be fixed.
Otherwise, I have been having a lot of fun with it and just driving it.
I did have to put on a new alternator and new serpentine belt.
Got it aligned and put on new wiper blades, pulled apart a lot of parts on the inside to clean and I think I found all the mice remnants and it finally smells nice in the car.
Fixed both headlight motors, climate control, AC and heat both work now. I had to put on new rear rotors and pads and a new front passenger wheel hub. New Antennae, and I fixed the third brake light. It's been a fun process and I am having fun driving it.
Pic is for attention only.

Thanks for the information.
I have mostly cleaned everything with water and products designed to remove the stuff, but I have also used a shop vac in normal cleaning of the car. This is always outside, but thanks for the info.

bill,
I noticed in other threads, that you had an 89 that you removed the precats and got a performance main cat converter. Where did you get that performance cat and what was the name?
You said it had a noticeable SOTP difference, so I was interested in doing it as long as there was no noticeable drone. My car is quiet and I actually would like to keep it that way.
Thanks

rodent infestation is a much bigger concern than You'd think, and hantavirus is no joking matter.
x2 that is serious business, if it was mine that entire interior down the the ducts would be ripped out, replaced and sanitized. by the time you get the symptoms ......

Ill be in the market here in a few mos for a "driver" what were you thinking about asking? Keep considering trading my truck off but its always good to have one.

I am not really sure what to ask. I really want an LT4, but this one is still fun. I am also not sure if I would like the stick better than the A4 for a cruiser. My daily driver is a 5 speed saturn and most of the time it is great, but there are those times when an auto is nice. Currently there is 37400 miles on it, the amps in the speakers need to be fixed and the antilock light is on. Those are the only major issues that I would like to get fixed. Hit me up when you get ready to buy, you never know, I may have found the car I really want.

Thanks for the info. I decided to pull the spare last night. There was just some gravel and dirt in there, thank god. I cleaned it out and put it back. I have pulled everything that I think could have mice nests/remnants/etc and did a lot of cleaning. I hope I got everything. So far, so good. Either way, it definitely needed to be cleaned.

At some point soon here I will be flush and wouldnt mind a driver like the color. Pm me some kind of price point
The L98 with the 6 spd is a ton of fun but if youre anything like me (tall with size 12 ft) they are a pain in the azz to drive
What state are you in

Yeah,
I am in Southern Wisconsin and I do have big feet myself. (size 15) Honestly, I really don't know the price point and I figured you would probably know more about that then I do. The L98 auto isn't bad with the 3.07 rear end and I am sure a 6 speed would be alot of fun, but if what you are saying is true about the PITA with big feet, then I guess maybe an LT4 is out of the question for me. Thanks for the info.
