Daily Driver or Garage Queen?
I see so many posts regarding the thread title. How is it defined?
My '16 is not a daily driver. However, 14k miles in 21 months. That averages 8k miles per year. Above the average of 6K miles per year I've seen here and other sources.
Then I looked at my miles. 12,000 miles on 4000 to 5000+ mile road trips. Throw in a few club events for 1000 mile trips, and I'm left with 1000 miles running to Costco. Over 21 months... 47 miles per month.
Garage Queen? No... Daily Driver? No....

5,600 miles in 3 months. The LAST thing I'll be doing is lying on my death bead wishing I had driven my Corvette LESS.
To each their own but I'll never understand the whole garage queen thing.

Told my wife that when we bought the 2015 C7 it would not be a "garage Queen." And, we have pretty much been driving it on a regular basis. We do not drive it daily but do drive it considerably more than the previous C5. After two years, 25,000 miles and counting. Love the vehicle and anticipate more excellent driving experiences.

My garage queen just turned 12,000 miles. It's a 2014. That's about 3000 miles a year. I may give up my daily F150 and start to DD it for a while which will up that average for sure.

Mine will be a garage queen. I drive close to 3k miles a month, mainly commuting to work. Much of that is in bumper to bumper traffic in the D.C. beltway, so driving a manual isn't much fun. I also spend a lot of time parked in airport parking lots. I'd prefer to limit a corvette's exposure to that.

I don't like driving my M7 in heavy traffic so I'm more likely to be in my Jeep but I drive it whenever I can. Absolutely no garage queen. I'll sell it before it just sits.

I define "daily driver" as a car that's just that 'driven daily', and/or one's only vehicle.
Personally, I don't know why it seems to bother some who drive their Vettes everyday so much that other's spend most time in a garage.
IMO, the big picture and most important thing is most of us here are crazy about Corvettes. Does it really matter whether one derives their pleasure from driving their Corvette every chance they get or whether others just enjoy fooling around with it in the garage and just driving it when they have time to really enjoy it? I don't think do.
My daily driver is a 1996 Tacoma 4X4 that just tripped 400,000 miles, and I purchased it new in 1996 and wouldn't give it up for anything. As far the Corvettes, after a LONG PITA week, I love to take my Corvettes out for a nice leisurely drive on Saturday or Sunday mornings. It relaxes me and gives me great pleasure. Does that make me less a Corvette enthusiast than someone who drives their Corvette everyday?
It's not just cars, I also collect antique (pre-1999 manufacturer) Winchester Rifles and it's the same thing. Quite often I hear "you don't shoot your Winchesters, what fun is that?"
My answer is usually, "I don't need to shoot a 130>140 year old rifle that's in 90% condition to enjoy it. I can enjoy it for what it is, a fine gun that has been meticulously cared for over many years which makes it very special".

I will probably take the belt for GQ, I got my C7 August 20th 2016, todays milage 720 miles. My daily driver is my Dodge Ram, even that one has 77,400 miles and its a 2009.
I only drive my C7 on the weekends, for a stroll in Dowtown, maybe a beer with some fish tacos and back to the garage. Full wash and wax every 4-5 months.
Sorry if I offend anyone for not driving it more.
Best regards,

For me a "Garage Queen" is a car that spends most of the time parked in the garage and used sparely. Weekends, sunny weather drivers. These cars are ultra low miles and typically look showroom new years after they are bought.
All the rest fall into the "Driver" category (regardless of miles on the odo). Vacation or long drivers or track only car fall into this category too.
Generally if you drive the car daily for whatever reason its not a garage queen in the truest sense of the word.

Guess mine's a garage queen. 2015 purchased in Oct 2014. Now has 1021 miles. I have other cars to drive and my C7 is used for club events and parades. My choice and I love it.

Mine was a dd. Up to 40k on my 2015. Just leased an electric car for commuting, so now it's a weekend car. Cost of the lease was less then replacing tires every year, so I figured why not
