Default Looking for hood opinions...

I have seen multiple hoods on 81 corvettes, and I really can't decide which one I think looks best. I know this question is subjective but just looking to see what you guys think looks best. Im trying to decide whether to go with the L88 hood or a stinger hood for my 81 white corvette. Your opinions are much appreciated.

IMHO, either stock or maybe a high rise. To me the L88 and stinger hoods look out of place.

Thanks for your input skeptic. I appreciate it. I think the stock hood looks good, but I just think it needs something to set it off a little bit without getting too crazy.

You can get a high rise 1980 style hood. Stands out but will look stock to most people.

High rise or even paint. Single or double racing stripes might get you exactly what you are looking for. If you're not sure you can always try plasti dip...

I have an l88 on my 69, but they are everywhere, its what happens to something that looks good,

The ecklers stinger hood or as i like the call it 67 427 scoop to me really looks great on 80 to 82s,

It has that connection to an eariler model but the way ecklers designed it to me it could have came factory on an 80 to 82, really flows well,

Thanks for all the opinions. I do like that high rise hood but after seeing a few members cars on here with the L88 hood, I still feel like I'm leaning in that direction. I know most people will say "It's what you like, it's your car" and I understand that but I really do appreciate all of your opinions. If anyone else has pictures of any hood, please post them, I'm open to all new ideas.

Here's an L88 for you. I think it looks like it could have been a stock option in 1980.....but wasn't. The 540 horsepower 406 could have been another option,....but wasn't.

I think the stinger hood flows nicely.

You could save some money and customize your own hood.

They all look good. I lean towards the L88.

You cant go wrong with L 88 its over done because it is so darn sweet looking,
Its likely the most popular hood scoop design of all time

I agree, the stinger is what I would do if I replace my stock hood.

I love this two tone look on the hood. That is gorgeous. I'm usually not a huge fan of hood mods but this one looks really nice.

I'm with you on this one. I'm having the same struggle right now. I want to replace my hood and keep flip flopping between the same two options. Both will give me the additional clearance i'm looking for which will allow me to replace my intake. But i'm also taking a closer look at which one will get more heat out from under the hood which i think the stinger would do a better job of.

I think the Corvette designers missed the boat by not continuing the stinger hood scoop into the C3 cars. The L88 and hi-rise hoods don't look 'appropriate' for the smooth, classy 80-82 C3 cars, unless the car has been modded with a performance look. And the BB hood of the early C3 cars is just 'wrong'.

Yes, Exactly what i'm leaning towards. More clearance and fresh air flow/heat extraction.
